Yeah our forwards aren’t the issue. I don’t remember Newcastle busting us up the middle at all yesterday. Our problems are definitely 1-7. Forwards have been doing their job especially the younger fellas

I thought Stewart and Egan did well to protect their halves. Lkt and Reed had issues but showed some good moments with the ball. If anything, I'm giving then time to gel with Stewart and Egan. I'd also not tinker with their mins, get them playing 80 on the edge.

The best learnings will be on the field and through 1st grade experience. Being scared of 'damaging them' now won't give us any benefit. I think it's a great learning experience for lkt and Reed against panthers. Plus all the other youngsters.
 
It's our backline defence which is a massive issue on both sides. f*cking hope Suli is okay, play him right ctr. Holmes has to play on the left wing when he's fit.

So are Holmes and suli both defs outs v panthers?

You cant have these young blokes consistently pounded. it becomes a mental issue even moreso when they are not ready for NRL anyhow, losing becomes a culture. Its ok for team that bring in young blokes into a side that is winning, but we are at 0 - 13 with more of the same to come, its not good.

Get real people it doesn't matter anymore where we put players, they are still the same players and the same output will be had. You know it and I know it, it will be 0 - 10 after next week. I'm hoping for no further damage to our young brigade, thats about all I can wish for.

Its just becoming farcical mate, we hope like hell during the week for something good to happen just to get destroyed when the game is on. That numb feeling just doesn't go away anymore, all the BS excuses we heard for years, well here we are and I'm slowly but surely not thinking much of next year either, especially if we start losing these young guys.

Very possible, 30 to 40 is the standard winning score now 50 scores are more common I think 7 this year.
Wouldn't surprise me if this year is the first time the premiership winner has had 50 put on them.

I expect to see more 60 point scores as the season goes on, the game is a joke now.

100%. 6 of the 8 games this weekend have been blow outs with 25 mins left in the Canberra Penrith game. Absolute bullshit how this season has turned for most games

I am expecting a loss every weekend from now on. I really cannot see us being able to get on top of any team. The other 16 teams are much better than us. Although I notice that the Tigers are coming back to the field in a big way - losing the last 2 games to the Sharks and Storm to the total tune of 96-16. It must be a Joint Venture thing.

But getting back to the Dragons, our attack is woeful and our defence is pitiful. So far we have scored a total of 124 points but have conceded 309 points in 9 games so far. Coaching is a problem but I think that our cattle are just not up to first grade standard in many facets. I worry about us for next year as well.

What really is the problem with the Dragons now? I mean deep down what is it?

Just playing devils advocate here, would we be upset if we were panthers or roosters supporters ? Good clubs have adapted to anything whilst we have wallowed in yesteryear, we have recruited poorly and ignored our pathways for years. Now we are dealing with the consequences of having dysfunctional club.

The answer is simple: watch Saints highlights on loop from 2009 to 2011. Works every time

This version is the equivalent of T20 Cricket, 4's and 6's in T20 & NRL26.

Question is whether its going to revert at all in 2027? I know audience numbers have never been higher, but I dont think thats because of the changes.. I think its just the game growing in general.. maybe it appeals more to the casual/new audience.. or advertising time or social media shorts... I dunno.

I can promise that the Storm and Dogs will start adapting their rosters and play styles to suit the new game.. some of those other clubs like tigers/knights/dolphins/cows more or less just fell into the right squads for the new game..... the question is can we catch up to the pack?

I did agree with um Christian Welch I think it was, saying that the danger of bringing squads like Perth and PNG into this new game might be asking for some serious problems (along with us).. does feel like its very hard to compete for more than about 50 minutes unless u have a gun squad to go with these fast teams... and the points gap is so big that even if u get a lucky try or 2.. its not enough to win a game anymore.

Agree with all that.. I think Gutho goes back to fullback (should have been there last week.. but it was an experiment), which frees up Sloan for Wing, im not a Sloan for Wing guy usually but hes as much of a gamble as Tu, and atleast Sloan can run fast. CT cant run fast but again no other options anyway, Feagai, Val and Fale all out of action.

I am still so gutted we lost Suli and Atko yesterday.. we didnt get to really see what the backline is capable of.. and combined with our right edge defence.. it rly flattered Newcastle imo.
