to be fair he had done a leg injury before that.. but even uninjured I dunno if hes there.. we have dropped the ball so bad with our outside backs... not that we could have expected the val drop off... maybe Atkinson could move to ctr or something.. basically at this pt we need some really creative coaching, the BAU isnt going to work with these injuries.. I dont think we have that coach however.

At least the coach coming in ‘27 has a grace period for the first year

In theory 2028 should be the apex of the young forwards ascending + peak of KK/Drinkwater/Metcalf and 12 months experience with the new coaches systems/steuctures

Do we actually have attacking structures, I think what looks like attacking structure to the Dragons are actually embarrassing moments. WTF was Tu's display after scoring the first try, obviously forgot about his effort in last weeks game and where we currently sit on the ladder. Another pathetic inept display, did you actually see the faces of our beloved fans, says it all.

I'm glad u raised that, there was a rumour today that I hope is wrong.. that Young would be given 1-2yrs with the new squad.. and the club was hoping to land Ivan as coach after.. I pray that one is wrong.. cause firstly the chances of us landing Ivan is f*** all... even if he does decide to coach again in the NRL... and honestly if we dont have some creativity with our coaching in 2027.. i.e. if we cant make something of the momentum these signings have bought us.. we are toast... we have to put the foot down while we still have our juniors and the marquees are in their primes... and while we still have the ability to pull more signings too, cause were not done yet... we still have some big holes to fill across all the grades to fix our pathways up.

The good news is that Tu didn't make any mistakes. The bad news is that he missed multiple one on one tackles some of which led to tries.

We just look so bad in attack, you just know someone will f#$k up any movement we have, how can Young possibly say we are improving. That was the worst display of attack by any NRL side I have watched.

there are little improvements we can/should have been making but Young hasn't
1. When we take a kickoff it lands on the 10m line sometimes closer to 15m out ... Good teams land a kick off in the in goal area ... we are giving up metres there for free
2. We are 8 points down with a scrum on the half way line and 30 seconds left on the clock. It doesnt occur to anyone that a set piece off the scrum into a 2 pt field goal is something to think about? No send the ball to Holmes to take a hit up off the scrum (which he subesquently loses possession from)
3. We get an attacking scrum 10m out and have nothing to show for it in terms of creative attacking play.
Simple stuff to actually train/correct but no brains at all in the joint.

I look at the NRL ladder and see us at the bottom and see a big fat zero under W and I shake my head and say to myself - "Wow, what has happened to us? Is this for real?" This is our worst year ever on record and losing has now become a habit and in a way expected for every game to the end of 2026. Who has the answer to this unbelievable situation?

LKT gets a hiding from a lot of supporters for some reason. I guess they expect him to be a miracle worker and when they falls short, they turn on him. But he's better than Kyle (as every other player in first grade is and at least 3/4 of reserve grade are) and Atkinson.
I'm not sure what the rules are regarding promoting players from outside the top 30 are but if possible I'd try a halves combo of Quinn and LKT with Atkinson on the bench while Liddle is out. When Liddle is back, I don't know. Does Atkinson get another chance in the halves? Does he go to fullback? Gutho is absolutely cooked but that's another story.

Why would we want to stuff up those sides Morgs and introduce them to the worst Dragons side in history. We have already stuffed up ressies by our sheer incompetence, injuries and suspensions in the NRL. The last thing we want to do is introduce a losing culture to anyone that has been playing ok. Look at the faces of our fans at the ground, the whole joint has had enough lets not do anymore of a pile on to any other juniors.

Young is not a head coach, and never will be. Even though he is playing with the same deck of cards that Flanagan left there has been absolutely no improvement in any area of our game.
This is what as a coach you are measured on, amongst on field success, the ability to improve individual players and the squad as a whole. Young should not even be mentioned even in jest as being possible next head coach.
