This guy can potentially replace Lomax , big fast and competes ........ Just on Lomax how the F**K did they let him go ........ The club had big raps on him , and just as he was to filling that potential, they let him walk .......
Pretty sure Lomax wanted out for quite a while. He obviously didn’t take it too well when Griffin dropped him to reserve grade, maybe an ego thing. It’s hard when a player continually agitates for a release. One thing for sure is that Flanno was spot on about him being a class winger, problem was Lomax didn’t want to hear that

I'm really sick of this narrative that anytime a decent player leaves a club it's "the club letting him go", it simply isn't the case. If a player wants to leave they will absolutely keep agitating for a release until they either get what they want or it becomes untenable for the club to keep them, the agents have so much power these days (ie. Hunt, Lomax, Molo etc). Im sure its exagerated to an extent but it came out he'd asked for a release like 6 times over a 12 month plus period, he had clearly made up his mind and it wasn't gonna change. And really at the end of the day credit to him cause he still busted his arse all year for us so as a fan I can't begrudge him for wanting a fresh start, clubs do the same thing when it suits them so until the contract sagas get resolved nothing will change.
Mate not negativity from me it's just that the place must be toxic for player wanting to leave , how many players have they let go and kept the wrong ones ...... Flanno didn't seem to try to hard to stop him from going , he did back flips to try and keep Hunt ........ I for one know a bit more about the inside of the club and how the ex players are running the place to the ground .......

With all the stories that went round as to why he left, god only knows, but my thoughts are he didnt want to stay and didnt want to play winger, plus I think him and hunt were destabilising the team.

Need to move forward, learn from the past but don't dwell on it. Our youngsters who have debuted over the last 2 seasons have filled me with great hope. Guys like Cook match performance don't justify their salary but their non-match involvement is vital & goes a long way to justifying the acquisition. Having good leaders is crucial when we're in a development phase. We've learned from the Hunt experienced by getting guys like Cook, Gutho & Val.

I think Lawson will be a similar player to Allan but more athletic. Hopefully his big game experience & pressure situations faced while representing Australia help him dealing with pressure in the NRL. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a mainstay in this team.

I have watched his progress in ressies, learning about the game, technique, positioning, the pace of the game v his previous union game. He deserves his chance and against a rookie so the reality is he won't be over rawed by the occasion. This is his opportunity its his chance to grasp it with both hands.

Late Mail: Dragons recruit Nathan Lawson is set to make his NRL debut after switching codes from Rugby Sevens. Dragons coach Shane Flanagan confirmed on Thursday that Lawson would come into the team to replace Christian Tuipulotu, who had been named to return from a hamstring injury but the team is instead going to give him an extra week to recover. Meanwhile, Flanagan also confirmed Valentine Holmes will back up from Origin.

Ponga apparently "keen to play". I hope he doesn't but it missing their best player didn't help us get a win against Parramatta or Souths.

If Lawson is good, that is just one more piece of the puzzle filled. Probably not this year, not yet but if next year LPT is that fabled 'big prop', that is another piece solved. Then it will only be the halves.

I don't know what Finau did so bad but whatever it is isn't Lawson's fault. He deserves a call up.
Yes he does. But I can tell you even if he has only a moderate debut our coach will keep him ahead of Finau, Allen too because they are his boys.

💯 Allan is actually pretty good in all aspects but the speed required to be a good winger. Reads the game well to be in position to make a tackle and then makes the tackle, passes well, runs hard, safe under high balls, good instinct to know when to pass and when to run. Just my view.
Is he retiring or heading to ESL? Talking about Allan.

All I'm hoping for is that we play for 80 min, none of this letting teams get away or switch off at crucial times. If they waltz in thinking they dont need to do much, we'll get done like a dinner. Wishing Lawson a great debut and can we please stay injury free. Go the Dragons !!!
Well back to back tries either side of ht smells of complacency but im sure this coach will be onto it
