Sack Flanno….

I genuinely think Flanno does what he thinks is his best chance to win 'that' weekend.. this is what hes done for the last 3 years.. not rly sure what else anyone would expect.. hes not going to suddenly start double-guessing himself and taking random selection ideas from the grandstand.

If we don't like it... we need to sack him, but we will also need an alternative to be interim coach... and whoever that is... is very likely to lose most if not all of their upcoming matches too... its dire stuff honestly.
It is hard to see an interim winning too many games but all the things that most of us on this forum don't like about Flano - game plan / style of play, big slow backs, Kyle's continued promotion as one of our best, 10 losses in a row, his apparent lack of relationship management - means we have to act to replace him asap.

Then we might just start to look a bit more attractive to both our juniors and outside targets. The next question of course is who will be the 2027 coach. It needs to be someone who prospective recruits are happy to play under. Michael Cheika could be that person as you have floated - along with some quality assistant coaches.

Reading through that it's utterly flabagasting he is still in reserve grade. I'm coming around to the idea Flanno wants to get sacked and get a payout.
Wow! I don't think anyone could possibly misinterpret how Loko has been MADE to feel by his treatment this season. His manager has made a very compelling case in both those letters. Sadly, I doubt this level of ill feeling can be overcome or repaired, even if Flanno goes, which he should. So what is the club going to do with Loko now his request has been denied? Just leave him in reserve grade to wither away until his contract expires?
As I see it, the only remote possibility is for someone to sit down with Loko, eat some humble pie and put him in the middle rotation now.
By the way, that reply from one of our "favourite sons", Ben Creagh was nothing more than pissweak, bullshit, management-speak which has made the situation worse ... another head for the chopping block I'm afraid.
This episode is symptomatic of the problems in the governance of our club, which are there for all to see.
This needs to be fixed NOW if we are to have a viable future and before our junior pathways become nothing more than a breeding ground for other clubs.
If this was a genuine business, the administrators would have been called in by now to sort out the mess.
Club owners, where are you? Time to step up and do something about this.

I reckon the club is nervous cause there is a lot of pressure on the interim, the 2027 head coach and potentially the GM decisions...

21 rounds is a long long way to go.. We have unhappy young players, we have issues recruiting without a plan in place.. Club knows if they f*** this up we could be in strife... And 21 more rounds.. I wish we could time travel and make the season over.. But there are a lot more losses to come yet... This might not be our last catastrophe for the season.

interim doesnt need to start winning ... its not about results now ..

It is about changing a number of horrible things within the squad/selections/strategy and over time improving.
We dont have the outside backs at the moment to really compete ... so we need to go to our strengths - the pack esp the youngsters.
To leverage that we cannot go one out, our pack is young/mobile ... needs a first touch half shifting the play all over the joint ... something that is not natural for kyle/atkinson but is for Reed.

If you want to hide reed then play holmes on the wing and have Reed defend outside him. Holmes drops back on the last ... That simple ... Minimise the defence running at Reed and support him with holmes inside and the sideline outside.

Not the first time a half has defended on the wing in early tackles.

Not in attack he aint. Has Dufty ever stood up a player the calibre of Pappy, the way Sloan did couple of yrs back. Recall he split the line and when fronted by Pappy, he feined to kick, which the Storm custodian fell for by stopping in his tracks and readying to turn. Sloan sensed this then swerved past him and under the sticks. A dead set piece of footy magic. Brilliant in attack with obvious ball skills plus vision, but Sloans career spoiled by his fear of putting his body on the line in defense.
Dufty scored some brilliant tries for us. He was the brightest attacking spark we have had for a very long time.

Indeed you are mate. True loyal supporter. You should do a science experiment and record your blood pressure before you fly down. Then check it again at full time.
For some reason I've been on high blood pressure medication now for 15 yrs, don't figure. Thought it was because of the stresses of my job but perhaps it is because of the team I follow.

Braith echoing Rogers comments regarding Flanno issue with players. Hate how these media type say Loko needs to toughen up and wait or blaming younger generation. Brainless farts.

Everything both of them said seemed very reasonable and accurate to me. Specially Remi when he said, "Dragons, what are you waiting for? Just do it. I'm sorry Shane but you've got to move on mate."

Flanno has finally lost me. lol. I have lost all faith that I had in Flanno.

After the Charity Shield, I said I would have played Reed at halfback and Atkinson at 5/8. I know Reed is slightly built, but I believe we could have beat Parra, Gold Coast, Manly and even Canterbury if Reed was our halfback. I also said that if I was in Flanno's position and coaching for my career, I would be playing my best option, in Reed at halfback.

I also said I WTF when he picked Lawrie in the 17 and left out Pasifiki Tonga. He has continued to pick Lawrie over Pasifiki Tonga and I still can't believe it. I thought Lawrie wasn't going to get any game time this year, barring a massive injury toll. Now it is official that Pasifiki Tonga wants out. I don't care how hard Lawrie trained in the off season or how much weight he lost. The lose of weight has made no difference to his game.

I also said from the beginning of the season that I would be playing Leilua at prop. I know he is going very well as an edge backrower for us this year, but we need more size and punch through the middle. We have an abundance of edge backrowers. I would have told Leilua that I want him to be our "alpha" prop. If we had just played him prop with Pasifiki Tonga as another prop and Halangahu as the edge backrower and Reed at halfback. I think we would have won at least half our games this season.

If I was Flanno, I would have been looking to sign Jenkins before the season started and trying to get an early release.

You all know who else I would have been offering big money to play fullback or 5/8 for us next year too.
Welcome back to the fold Frank, may your heart be at peace in joining the rest of us in our "no love" for Flanno :)

Yeah agree Rev, when DY took over from McPeanut he won minimal games, when Carr tool over from hook he won minimal games. All I will say is there was a slight improvement in attitude in both cases,
