Just watched those highlights, few things stood out:
  • Morrison @ Fullback, had 1 long-range try
  • Berghuis on the wing looked very fast, good footwork in his try
  • Halangahu was particularly fired up, he looks completely unrecognisable.. he is massive now... thick thighs.. totally different player to I thought and still yet to play U19's yet.
Edit: Just in case anyone wants to see the match page, this usually takes me 30 minutes and 370 clicks to find the right schoolboy competition: Elimination Final 1.

Luka taking over from Api now.

Naite Gibbs who scored off Api and then set up Apis try is an interesting watch.

Nephew of Bryce he has the bulid and skills to make it, he just lacks commitment and mental toughness at the moment.

Peter Mulholland Cup 2026: The rising stars who stole the show in electric finals

Luka Halangahu

The young front rower has been living largely in the shadow of older brother, Dragons NRL signing Jacob Halangahu – but, no more. In a season-defining performance, the younger brother showed he has the potential to make it in the top grade and its only exceeded by his attitude. With the game on the line, the prop forward demanded the ball and made things happen.

Cooper Morrison

The Dragons Academy gun has been the linchpin of Illawarra Sports High’s resurgence this season. He pulled out a prototypical run in the final, using his surprising upper body strength to fight through three defenders before charging to the tryline. It was eerily similar to a try he scored in the school’s first game of the season which signalled their return to success.

Mason Andrews

The Steelers young gun runs like he is angry at the opposition defenders for getting in his way. While it isn’t always pretty, it sure is effective. Andrews is a leader on and off the field and he showed it with his intent and actions. It’s no surprise that when Halangahu began to take the game by the horns, Andrews was right by his side.
