Spencer Leniu ban

What do others think of this? I have mixed feelings.

• Glad it happened to a Roosters player.
• Kind of believe him to an extent it wasn't racially motivated.
• If the NRL is sure it was, 8 weeks is probably fair. If they want to stamp it out of the game. But how did they decide it was? Can they see into his mind?
• Does this happen more often with players leaving it on the field, as the Roosters suggested happened in the same game with a Broncos player targetting Leniu?

St George was at the forefront of stamping out racism in the game in Australia. That's my only comment on the matter.

Yeah, Spencer spent a lot of time growing up where I live and all the kids from different cultures are raised together.

We would put the UN to shame. Just our street, folks from many cultures. No one cares.

Plus he has some kind of genius level IQ ( I’m not kidding).

He doesn’t have a racist bone in his body.

I think he was used to make a point and I’m glad he fought back against JT, because it’s a terrible insult.

JT did try to milk the issue and said words to the effect that

“ I don’t think Spencer is a racist but…

And then JT spoke about the evilness of racism (which most people accept).

The problem was that he connected Spencer to racism.

And much later approaches Spencer about a game and Spencer points out his hypocrisy and is agitated.

JT complains to Robbo and listening to him, he was trying to exculpate and excuse himself. Turning himself into the victim.

I think JT entered the field of battle unnecessarily and wrongly by connecting Spencer to racism.

And as it played out, his attempts to resile and retract the point, didn’t assist him.

And I think JT’s image and reputation has suffered as a result of his ill considered link.

It’s extremely offensive to be associated with racist conduct in modern day Australia.
