I hope we can bring in another Prop, there was talk they would bring in Lawson, but we need another prop.

yeah we have a full set of RESERVE GRADE PROPS, that's why we need another prop who isn't reserve grade standard as to who is available that's up to the club to source one, whether someone is on contract or not, just as Klemmer was contracted but has ended up here..

I think if this was a month ago, it would be Lawson (given Flanno called him Player #29.... I imagine we promised him a certain salary.. not just a dev spot.. so at some point this year he needs an upgrade).
But fast forward to now... Ryan being out for the season, Guler struggling, Lawrie struggling, Sele struggling with fitness.. and 2 losses down.. even with Klemmer we are 1 more injury from derailing the season... I reckon we will be on the hunt for a middle.. how quick can we find him though?
There are other positions to consider mind you... if Kyle or Ilias break a leg tomorrow, then its LKT or bust.. similarly with our centres, but none of them are quite as important as matching teams up front.
I will say though, that there is no room for a plodder.. we have a few of those already.. especially if its for more than a 12mth contract... which it will almost have to be to get anything decent.
Note: we probably still move MMolo and others on.. so more spots will come up.

I’ve been big on Trey mooney for 3 years now, he’s Canberra’s version of Toby couchman but he barely gets any minutes, Sydney boy and highly unlikely to leave after extending recently but wouldn’t hurt to ask the question. Big body and big motor

Sounds good if the club can get a good prop from elsewhere but I have my doubts for this year.

yeah, i also get we are top heavy with forwards and we are not balanced in our top30, but i have been saying it for a while now, that we needed 2 more props and it makes it more important considering who we have Lawrie VFifita Sele are currently offering nothing, Couchman injured etc

There was talk of dogs or Canberra for Pahulu.
Dogs signed Thompson and raiders the talk has gone quiet. So it’s an unknown.

Bit of talk on other forums about Ryan Sutton as possibly being on the way (noone reliable has confirmed it... probably rubbish, but just in case its not, heres my googling):
- Just agreed to be released from a 550k contract (i.e. surely has somewhere hes going)
- Turned 29 last month, a pommie.
- Would be another '2025 only' signing (not sure where else we would find that)
- Has had a dreadful run of knee/hip injuries.. Joined the Dogs in 2023... and played 13 NRL games, then 2024 just 1 reserve grade game and 0 so far in 2025... no idea if hes now fit or what... I assume he is or again im not sure why he would agree to be released.
- Never seen him play.. though imagine if anyone is signing him for 550k.. he must have been very decent back in 2022...

I thought Latu was a lock and Pahulu a lock.
Hope it's not Sutton. I hope it's either internal promotion or taking a punt on a younger type who isn't getting mins elsewhere. Not super young but maybe in the 22-25yo range.

As in he gave up $55ok or got paid out a portion or all of it?

Klemmer was found, there will be players who may start agitating to be released and could see a starting spot available with us, JPahulu could be an option
First thing first, is he still injured? If not has he had a preseason, how long would it take him to get match fit, literally no football in 2 years.
Remember him at Canberra, but not like i paid attention or watched him closely, as you said must have gone OK
That's the issue, will he become another Sele for us, which is a waste and not what we need, he only played 13 games first year, got injured, came back and got injured again and as far as i know hasn't played any trials or games so far in 2025, huge risk to take... Can we sign him to a train and trial type contract..

Don't know if we are a chance but JPahulu is off contract for 2026, if we could sign him and then try and get an early release but we all know that Hasler is a stubborn prick..
