Round 20: Dragons vs Bulldogs

Who else? Feagai then people will complain. Buchanan people complain he's too small. Heidke people complain he's too young.
If he wants to complain, why can't he complain? I honestly don't get it. Even if the team was traveling unbelievably well there is always something to complain about. What is the forum for if people aren't allowed to complain?

BTW Feagai is ok as a depth backline player. Allan is skillful and tries hard but is just way too slow to be a decent back. I don't get why he is 18th man or even on the extended reserves. I can only guess it's because he's one of the players Flanno signed.

When I think about it, I'm reminded again of how bad Flanno has been so far. Canberra couldn't get any big name players to go there either so Sticky raided various clubs for young players. At the time everyone was probably saying he was paying them overs. I know we used to say he was paying overs for Tamale.

Sticky raided for young players last year after being a head coach at the Raiders for the last 10 years. Cos it's boring as batshit hearing people complain over the same thing. It's like a personal vendetta to make yourself feel better.

Unfortunately he's done a very good job at Canberra.
Ok. Your opinion. I just think there is a serious lack of negativity on here. Look at the competition table! We are going down, down, down yet no one wants to give it to Flanno, the idiot who shares a large part of the blame for it.

Just from the perspective of an old retired ressies coach. The coach, in fact all coaches are the face of the club.

Just because you are the face of the club doesn't mean that you get what you want. In fact you rarely do.

There are forces that are beyond your control especially at board level. The board holds the keys to the kingdom not the coach.

Factors that affect your ability to coach in a progressive and positive manner includes: budget restraints, ability to retain and recruit players, the clubs discipline and cultural issues, depth of positions, injuries, and administrative and coaching staff.

The coach is the figurehead and his ability to complete his tasks as a coach are in reality measured by the onfield performance of his team and their success.

I feel apart from the nonsensical arguments about him and his son the different game plans that he has brought to the team the execution of his attacking structures has been far better than our previous coaches.

He has squeezed every bit of talent out of our current top 21 players who simply are not good enough to play consistently enough to make the top 8. To lay blame on 1 person or 1 player is easy to do from the comfort of our loungerooms but doesn't really reflect on the multitude of issues that real life coaching constitutes.

Just my views.

It's a collective failure for sure but who does the buck stop with?

What an absolutely miserable way of thinking when your entire focus is around finding something negative about the things you supposedly enjoy the most and a complete refusal to acknowledge any change/progress. Way too many old Facebook warriors and Foxsport armchair experts coming here with nothing to offer other than constant negative rubbish and a complete unwillingness to discuss anything - which by the way is the actual point of a forum.

I love a good whinge as much as the next person but if you can't actually have a discussion around your thoughts/reasoning, whether you agree/disagree with people then why exactly are you here? If the answers just to blast angry or personal complaints everyday with no context or reason and no further discussion, particularly when you're stretching to things that haven't even happened yet or may happen in the future, then perhaps you'd be better off sticking to one liners on twitter.

Agree with Mug, time to take a break, which is a shame cause he's the exact type of person we're extremely lucky to have and people should appreciate having in here, learning/gaining valuable info from someone still involved in the space. Particularly those who have made it abundantly clear time and time again they've never touched a football in their life. You have the patience of a saint Jo, good luck to you.

This thing with Kyle seems to be spinning out of control. I feel sorry for him. It's not his fault his Dad has an insane desire for his son to be a NRL player. He should be painting houses, laying bricks, writing code or whatever.

Seems to be getting more concrete that Val is not playing (unsure if we r talking 1 week or season), assume Allan is the guy to come in this week, probably been our most reliable centre at cup level anyway during the year... and wings unchanged I imagine.. Feagai is named in NSW CUp also.. so would assume Sloan/Finau are keeping their spot.

There goes our x-factor however..

Where did you get this info? It's bad if true but I think Allan is a much better centre than winger.

Its been floating around forums all week, supposedly NRL Physio talked about it in some group chat which I cant access.. believe its why Kyle stepped up and took the goalkicks last weekend... noone is sure yet if its an issue that is managed or its end of season...

And yep Allan is an OK centre.. maybe he can set something up and Finau can use his pace.. but yeah its very very not ideal.. dogs r probably most vulnerable if we could have out-pointed them in attack.. they have strong in D.. but their attack generally isnt as strong as the other top4 teams, but this is a very vulnerable squad we are fielding... it wont take too much to generate a defensive error from the wingers etc.

Apparently a shoulder injury & could be season ending

If you’re happy to have Allan & Feagai on the flanks rather than speed then good luck to you.
FTR I’d like to see Buchanan given a shot.
On the flanks 100%. In the centres Allan in particular is much better. He has some good ball skills. In my opinion anyway. But would definitely rather Buchanan.

Yeah, right. We should be doing handstands over the fantastic job Flanno has done. Just as long as we can avoid the spoon.

yeah, right. Discussion is fine just as long as W Wild383 can decide what discussion is or isn't allowed.

Good riddance.

Who are they, Chook Raper?

Scratch all that. I just remembered you. The freaking 1diot who thinks we should take advice from the Canberra coach on how to manage our team

I'm not in the business of telling anyone else what they should or shouldn't post but just FYI, W Wild383 always intervenes to try and see off criticism of the Flanagan's. It's almost certain there is a personal connection to the Flanagan family.

This forum encourages robust conversations and all should feel free to air their opinions without fear or favour. However personal attacks on individuals cannot and should not be tolerated or encouraged. I view this particular reply as overstepping the boundaries and as a moderator will take the necessary steps.

Yes just being reported on various sites out for the season, shoulder issue. Time for someone to step up now
