Round 23 vs Cronulla Sharks

This is a match up I've come to hate. Do they have any of their best team out injured at all? For us I guess it'll be the same team if no one is injured. I just have doubts about Allan on the wing on a dry track. Unfortunately, seems no one else who could possibly take that wing is fit.

On a brighter note, JDB, Klemmer, Gular and Sele really took it to Canberra's highly rated front row rotation. Need more of that.

A bit off topic but for next year surely there needs to be a conversation about Suli moving to the backrow. Seems the position he is best suited to. Let Su'A go back to QLD, probably to the Broncos and use Egan, Halangahu, Nick T, Luciano, Suli as backrowers. Holmes and Buchanan or Heidke or Feagai in the centres. Or recruit a centre.

As for Allan, 60% probability of rain next Saturday and there is no one else available unless Buchanan is going to be promoted to play wing which won't happen.

Yes, the perennial yearly clash that I also dread. A recurring theme like a tune going over and over the same track on an old LP album. These clashes noted as the local derby only it seems for the benefit of the Sharks to just rub it in on the Dragons. We have to get rid of that album and tune and get the right tune for us to win from Spotify or whatever.

Come on Dragons don't let up. Keep strong and tough. You can beat the blasted Sharks.

I cannot remember the last time Suli scored a try for us. I think he has scored only one try this year which in 22 games is terrible. He hardly makes a break and rarely sets up his outside man. We really miss Holmes. Suli has never been used in the second row and always been used as a centre. I think the workload as a backrower would be too much for him.

There are a number of Sharks players who always present danger to us and they are Katoa, Mulitalo, Brailey, Fonua-Blake, Nikora, Trindall and Hynes.

As usual, a tough day at Jubilee Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Why would you let Su’a go?? I don’t get it why some supporters are off him

I'm not off Su'A. Not even a bit. Just looking at what the team needs and best management of the cap. Suli has another few years. I think Su'A is free to negotiate at the end of this year. Dragons will probably have to pay him a lot to stay.

Klemmer and Guler have not been that great this year so far…

But they both went well against the Raiders.

Klemmer is a better player when he fires up ditto with Guler.

So let’s hope they wear their emotions on their sleeves and we beat those pesky little brother Shonkies.

Before Dragons had a forum, or only one within the LU handcuffs, I used to float around various forums. My favourite was the Bulldogs forum. I feel about them the same as I think most Dragons fans but the forum was a outstanding. The way they would just melt down over the smallest things was hilarious. I bring it up because even when Klemmer was regarded as one of the best props in the country, they used to give it to him on that forum for his inability to pass. I can see all these years later, he still can't pass.

So even though he runs hard, harder than Gular, probably best to let him go at the end of the season.

You have to love local derbies, the intensity of these games is usually raised a few notches.

The key to this game is the ruck area, the battle of the packs.
It is essential in my view to do the following in defence:
Restrict their go forward, tough with the recent running metres of their prop, AFB . He and McInness are the Sharks ramming rods in the middle of the ruck.
Watch the newly established running game of their hooker Brailey
Slow the play the ball without conceding unnecessary penalties.
Their edge forwards need the room and time to move and reach their attacking structures, restrict those two areas.
Last week we missed 13 tackles, very impressive that has to be repeated.

In attack our completion rate of 83% has to be repeated.

Going to be a tough one as the Sharks have had the wood on us lately but we are at home and after a morale and confidence boosting win against the ladder leading Raiders last week we can make it two in a row. Dragons by 4

The boys had a bit more line speed last week and it showed. Brailey is make or break, let him run freely and we get lapped, keep it tight and we’re in with a chance.

Please whack Hynes, every time we hang off him we make him look like an absolute god. He has proven that he can have a Barry when he’s put under pressure. It’s time we beat these muppets from the shire, been way too long and I’m sick of it

Ten in a row to the Shonkies they are saying ! This cannot go on ! Stop Brailey from dummy half, bash
Hynes and get in their faces with some high tempo line speed in defence.

It is like we flipped to alternative nightmare universe where the Shonkies always beat us !

Everyone knows that the little bros from the Shire are a bunch dickheads !!!

Go Saints !!!

So much talk about Souths injury toll.. but we arent far in front.. offset a little bit with Lawson/CT/Sele/Fifita technically back but not a lot of match fitness in them.
