As a former coach, Daniel Anderson took over the Parramatta Eels when the club was in turmoil and guided the Eels in his first year at the club in the 2009 grand final which was "won" by the Storm but that premiership was taken away from the Storm because of historical salary cap breaches and there was that argument that the Eels should have been awarded that premiership because of the breach. In his second and final year at the Eels in 2010 - the year in which our beloved Dragons were the minor premiers and premiership winners, the club finished 12th which was way short of expectations.

There is no doubt that Daniel Anderson has an eye for talent and he will be focussing his eyes very hard I would imagine on all the talent going around the League world. He would know where the good talent already is within the Dragons club and I feel that he would have checked out overseas players as well as the other clubs talented players whose contracts would be nearly up. So looking forward to some appointments in the weeks or months ahead.

Flanno can therefore focus his attention wholly and solely on coaching the first grade team for the next 3 years. I can see some pressure being applied to him on not favouring his favourites including Kyle (although I am only meaning Kyle as the half back but I'd agree that Kyle could be the #14). Flanno's signings of the older guys l would think was to help fill the top 30 but at the same time hoping that with their experience would help with winning games. He did try to get AFB and RCG etc but to no avail so let's see how DA fares.

I thought Kyle would be a good #14 for a while but then Flanno recruited Cook plus with all this noise, I now think it would be best if he went and proved himself elsewhere. Like got a plane over to England with Sloan. I think he goes ok but too much pressure on father and son now.

If Kyle was recruited to play #14, I can't understand why Flanno went out and recruited Cook. That is no criticism of Cook. He is right up for our player of the year this year, I just can't guess what Flanno is thinking.

Haven't had a chance to listen yet but I have to say, I hardly commented on KF because for all his averageness, I thought he offered more than Ilias. But that would be an extraordinary comment. Apart from defensive problems, which weren't even that bad due to players around him screwing up as much as LKT, I thought he (LKT) was really good. Kicking game which should be the halfbacks job, was only a bit better than KFs.

We have to just wait and see how the combination of Kyle and Daniel goes in the trials. If they click, well and good. If they don't, then we will likely see LKT come back in to play alongside Kyle or Reed and Daniel relegated to the Cup if Flanno says that he is standing by Kyle. Whatever happened to us chasing a marquee half? Just what comes out of Trump mouth, it's all bullshit!

No. Of course not. It wouldn't be the first time someone has misunderstood what someone else was saying or honestly misquoted someone.

One thing for sure, this is going to have a chilling effect on clubs allowing coaches to recruit and coach their own boys. Flanno has just become a grandfather. He must be smitten with Kyle and now he has his extension, he just doesn't care what anyone says. He's picking Kyle and that's that. It's also insulting to Sloan and LKT. To pick out those 2 but ignore the guy who has never had anything but indifferent seasons.

All I can say is that as a Father of 3 men now, had I been a coach of some team and one of them was pretty handy on the field - maybe not great but useful and could play hard but could lack some speed and playing for another team and was not getting good game time and could be on the lookout for another club, I'd pick him up and bring him to my club if agreed to by the Board and put a lot of trust in him to do his best and give it all to win games. Yes I would be disappointed if the results were not good but I would stick by him because he is my son. But if by chance my Club was able to secure a much better player than my son, then I would have no choice but to drop my son ad he should be understanding of this, for the Club and for me.

Fair enough but not only is he picking his own son, but he is clearing the decks so there is no one to take his sons place. Flanno is a bad father. I'm pretty confident saying that. His manic desire for his son to be a pro rugby league player must be hard on Kyle. He probably hates the not subtle digs at him from not only the media but his own teammates.

I hadn't but I did now. That is open to interpretation but the parts of his comments I'm angry about were very specific. They way he is so ready to throw various players under the bus while defending Kyle until he is blue in the face is very telling.

He never said his son didn't have an indifferent season. This is getting silly now. Lkt isn't joey johns and neither is Kyle. They both have big flaws. If he wants to back a better defensive half then so be it. Ditto if he wants to back lkt who is a more attacking threat.

He also waxed lyrical about atko performances as a half & mentioned he can play 1,6 or 13 but atm is going to play 7.

I think people are using this as an excuse to vent.
