Who are they going to lose? Or maybe it's true Dragons are going to pay 1.3 mil a season or more for Tino Faasuamaleaui. I hope not. I think he's overrated. Though he's still very good. Just not worth over 1 mil a year.

The Wests Tigers are shedding 8 players who are not really noteworthy but have signed some bigger named players. Not sure how they fit them all in their salary cap but agree they have been doing a good job of recruiting than us so far.

In the case of our recruitment, there are people saying that we should have gone for Pezet but I think the club now has decided not to deal with Bwaith Anastasia because he sold us a lemon in Ilias. The Dragons don't want any players under the management of him anymore is what I think.

Anyway, I am sure things are happening within the Recruitment Department of the Dragons and we will see some more signings of which there might be some good surprises, which I am hoping for.

Illias also came on Cook's recommendation Dave, I also haven't heard Cook refer anyone else thank god.

Very true Justa. Just goes to show not to trust anybody's recommendation now particularly if they were previous mates - in a way just like Hook getting all his old Queenslanders joining us a few years ago. Possibly having children and or relatives in the team as well should not be entertained so that there is no favouritism.

Yes, we expected a hell of a lot of good from Ilias from the way that Cooky spoke of him and we just had the excuse of saying he has had a serious injury and will take time to get over it and then we will see the true player Ilias is - and we are still waiting - well I guess if the Titans have agreed to take him its their turn to wait. :ROFLMAO:

Cook has learned to stay in his lane. I wonder if Cook's influence was overstated. Like they were just being polite to Cook saying his advice was crucial.

I hope it's true. Still no official word from us or Gold Coast. I mean, the Sami Ilias swap. I hope it's true.

All I can say is we only have ourselves to blame, surely as a professional club we should have been able to do enough due diligence on Illias without relying on Cook's appraisal. There was enough data to show what Illias was all about, especially when Bennett said he wasn't playing 1st grade in the halves or maybe 1st grade at all, that should have put up some red flags right there. I dont wish the kid ill and it certainly wasn't his fault, he just cant make it in the NRL, now we are stuck with him, just like we were with all our other has-been retirement payout players that we got. Lets hope DA can sort a few things out.

Is this the list you want or think? Dragons will improve but top 8 will be hard.

I hope Dragons can beat out Sharks or Dogs. They are the most vulnerable in that list. Canberra without halfback at this stage. Ricky Stuart is a big fan of KF apparently. Maybe he can make an offer.

There is always at least one team that surprises everyone. Were 2 this year. Canberra and NZ. Maybe Dragons can be that team next season.

Something we dont talk about enough or at all is our performance against the top 6 teams, it was very good, and then the close points losses, for a team that finished 15th it was excellent. Too many young forwards had to come in at different stages and didnt really have the chance to play together as a unit because of injury.
We must sign up Hamish, Dylan, Nick, The Couchmen, Jake, LKT as soon as possible to long term contracts they are our future and they are under our nose, we dont have to find the next best upcoming young forward. We are finding it difficult to attract marquee players, so build your own like Penrith, the passion will be there.
