What position is he going to play? Halfback? I thought Atkinson was supposed to be that. I think JCs best position is 5/8 or fullback anyway. But still need that game managing halfback. Maybe fast-track Kade Reed? If he proves he can tackle in NSW Cup, why not?
Depends how much they love the club Eric, one would hope so as there will be some crazy money being splashed around soon.
If we get him I'd like to see him at FB and move Gutho to 5/8 with Atkinson until Reed is ready.
Has Gutho got a good kicking game? I would prefer that both halves can kick and kick well.
Yep agree Dave, I think he has played in that position before and performed well enough, cant comment on his kicking game though.
I am with you. Reed is the half we need for the future. This kid reads the game incredibly well for some one so young, has vision and instinct too which is all too rare today. If we dont upgrade him long term soon and we lose him I will be spitting chips, again. Not sure his defense is quite top grade as yet so perhaps polish that in Ressies first. But am all for giving him a FG debut if our current half remains crap. Other kids we need to be holding onto are Charlie Heidke, Lyric T and the Meafou brothers.
Really Jd, basicly two 5/8s as Atkinson dont come across as an organiser to me going on his footage . Gutho is kinda the guy muddying the waters at the moment. Too slow now for f/b and edge, too small for the middle, but I do rate his ball playing, so am fine with a move to lock or into the halves where Atkinson can handle the kicking, running and backing up which seems to suit his game. The loser in all this tho is LKT and we did extend him last yr. Bit of a stuff up bringing Atkinson here then upgrading Lycan.

I can't see LKT being a decent halfback. First of all, like Kyle his long kicking is rubbish. Seems like a 5/8 to me.
DD we keep building our junior base nicely and another Ipswich High boy to go with Loko Jr. They may even know each other. Like the talented Pupualii bros he will turn out for the Dragons Ball Cup. Starting to get excited as Jasais Ah Kee will be half and orchestrator. Am wishing Saints Matt Cup is being boosted too with new talent..

Different kind of player from Tino Fa'asuamaleaui. Fa'asuamaleaui would likely get through more work, run more metres but Koloamatangi would be more likely to bust the line or score from close range. For 900k rather than 1.2 mil or more, Koloamatangi would be a much better signing for the Dragons in my opinion. Stewart and both Couchman's will play a lot of minutes, get through a lot of work. Need someone like Koloamatangi to compliment them.

That was my idea if we were to land JC, but it looks like he will renegotiate with the Titans, so its back to the drawing board.
Didnt someone say we were going hard for him. I wonder if prospective recruits, such as Campbell are influenced by our crop of emerging stars, such as Loko and Jake, Ball premiers now likely First Graders. Campbell for instance, may think I'd like to be strutting my stuff behind that pair. Wishful thinking, but you never know.
