1. Paps
2. Holmes
3. Gutho
4. Suli
5. Lomax
Dave, that backline does look pretty good, but my preference is for Lomax to go back to Parramatta and consume a fair chunk of their salary cap. Leaving us with a better chance of securing Nelson Asofa-Solomona on a two year deal.

1 – Gutho / Pap
2 – Fale
3 – Holmes
4 – Suli
5 – Sloan
6 – Pap / Gutho
7 – DAt
8 – Nelson
9 – Cook
10 – Toby
11 – Su’A
12 – Egan
13 – Stewart
14 – Liddle
15 - Ryan
16 – LPT
17 – Guler/Luc/Sele

George dont we want specialists in the halves not fill ins. Gutho has one yr left doesn't he, so keep him at the back, then bring Pappy here to replace him. If we are patient hopefully Kade Reed and or LKT/Atkinson will be steering the ship by then...
Agree RVH that an elite halfback would have been ideal. Unfortunately, once Metcalf resigned with Warriers, our opportunity to recruit and elite halfback has blown out by at least a couple of years. I believe Pappy will strengthen our side whatever position he plays, whether it is in the halves or at fullback. It is just my opinion, but I felt he played his best at the Storm when Munster, or Hughes or both were out of the side, and he was called upon to organise the play.

There was George Williams.

120k mate and when he bulks up prob 125k. He will be off the bench on shortish mins in first yr if our big wigs have the sense to not cook him before he grows into his body. He is too valuable a commodity, as is Jake H.

Saw a list of all clubs new gains, most of them showing off their elites. Us Josh Kerr and Dan Atkinson. Whacky do!!!
LPT is a very scarce commodity if he can continue to develop his skillset he will be a gold nugget.

Flanno and/or Dan Anderson must have high hopes in Kade Reed. Or Mug Fan Mug Fan as far as I know, also rates another halfback only a year younger than Reed. Otherwise you'd think the club would have gone in hard for someone like the Pezet or the Broncos halfback who signed with Canberra or even DCE. Or George Williams as well.

If possible I'd sign Lomax for 600k a year and let him box as long as he did the boxing training in his own time and fought in the off season.
Cant agree with you on this one Ryan, never again would I have that flog back at the club, it would send a wrong message to our juniors that you can treat the club like crap and think you are above the game with no loyalty.

It's a hard one. He's one of the best wingers in the game and apparently the opposite of Ben Hunt. So he's good around the club off the field. But he did walk out on the club.

I hope he proves it but his second half of the season was definitely worse than the first
I think most players were worse in the second half of last season. Being Gutho's second year with us, I am hoping that he will be a stronger leader and help to get us more wins. The players have to maintain their fitness, strength and resilience for the entire year to ensure that there are no fade outs and play solidly for the full 80 minutes of each game.

My biggest concern is the defence. We don't have a very good defensive coach unfortunately and there has to be a player who can do similar defensive work that JDB provided over the years.

For those calling for the signing of Lomax, heaven forbid I don’t know why.
Part of his release was that he couldn’t play against the eels for the duration his contract which I think had 3 more years left.
To my old coaches eyes Lomax and Papenhausen are a no go zone because in my opinion both their mental attitudes are not where they should be.

There is a big difference in playing for the money and playing for your team, team mates and club.

Personally I wouldn't open the door for either of them. Perhaps my stubborn attitude stopped me from progressing further in my coaching career. Just my views.

I agree with you Jo. Both players minds will not be on the job. I wouldn't take Lomax back at any cost and Paps won't be much out of the Storm system.
