I hope it means KF is going to leave and explore options elsewhere. So the coach can stop worrying about what is best for his only son but instead concentrate on what is best for the team. So far the NSW Cup and first grade halves we have for next year.

A couple in lower grades who are rising and might push for promotion as well.

I'm amazed at your mental gymnastics to be able to turn every story into a Flanno whinge.
Eric was nice enough to create a thread exclusively for all the crying, try to stay in the lanes.

Looks excellent. But so did Glover in attack. I hope this one can tackle as Glover can't.
Souths signing Glover and us signing Quinn is a bit odd. Maybe old Wayne thinks he can get Glover to tackle. If he does, Glover might become good. Not a star but a solid first grader.

Not exactly the big fish we were after but I trust Daniel Anderson knows what he is doing. As opposed to who was doing it before Anderson came.

DRAGONS LAND DOGS PLAYMAKER

The Dragons have landed young gun playmaker Joseph O’Neill, handing him a development contract after he was released by the Bulldogs. The 22-year-old won a Jersey Flegg premiership with Canterbury in 2023, making his NSW Cup debut that year and going on to make 42 reserve grade appearances.

The Bulldogs released a short statement on Wednesday confirming O’Neill departure, saying: “The Bulldogs wish Joseph, and his family, all the best for the future”. Two hours later, O’Neill’s Red V arrival was confirmed, adding to the Dragons’ playmaking depth.

“Joseph is talented, young player and we’re excited to be able to bring him to the Dragons,” Shane Flanagan said in a club statement. “He’s had plenty of success coming through the grades at the Bulldogs and is eager to continue to prove himself. “He’s hard-working and he’s passionate about his footy. He provides us with some more valuable depth in the halves. It’ll be good for him to meet the rest of the squad and really hit the ground running this preseason.”

I will just say this, people are having meltdowns because we are signing, KOE cup, Jersey Flegg players etc, we are building our depth, this was a key issue that DA had found that we had a lack of depth, the media is reporting these signings and departures, some they are sensationalising as XXXX loses gun junior, or XXXXX signs up and coming star, the media has nothing else to report as there are no games, they need clicks, so everything is hyped and everyone is falling for it, the other big difference is that the leaks in the club around signings has sealed up, info is scarce these days people are assuming we are not out there talking to players/managers etc, the club knows what type of player it needs and is trying to get that, people need to chill out and stop jumping to conclusions on made up rumours or comments that someone makes..

Well O'Neil aint the elite half we wanted. Dead set we were kidding ourselves landing one of those. The 22 yr old will be used as depth given other than Flanagan no one at our club has top grade experience at half. But hello O'Neil hadnt either with the Grubs as am reading he only played Ressies! I hope Ando knows what he is doing.

Dogs fans are pretty high on O'Neil, the dogs have stacked their young halves ranks like the roosters do.. there is no way forward there, esp with the addition of Galvin into the mix who is still so young and Mitch Woods being prioritised.. and Tia I think is a weapon.

Im not sure where O'Neil will play next year though, but it could be a good headache for us.. esp if LKT moves up a grade for injury or anything.

But yes hopefully the next signings are big ones =) but im not sad about any of the other signings thus far... all good additions to the club.

Two points. If O'Neil jumps into Glovers place what happens to Kade Reed, 5/8, why not, but surely LKT is favored to play there. So the unfortunate Kade is shuffled back to Flegg where he was outstanding last season, but his career will be stalled by this move. Still O'Neil looks a clever organiser in that clip. The other point is how is his defense, first grade standard. A 90% efficiency tells me the kid can also tackle. Another box ticked.
