Prove me wrong but Tino would never join the dragons. If he wants more money he’ll go to the bears, bears will definitely pay overs for him, titans already pay him 1.2m and have him on a lengthy contract, I couldn’t see dragons pay much or anymore for him then that. If he wants premierships right now dragons are obviously not even close, I could see him joining storm or roosters with all there loses they probably have some space in there cap, Dragons are in a rebuilding faze with a talented young forward pack which are definitely ahead of the titans in there rebuild. But what would convince him to be a dragon? To become a leader and be a role model for young forwards? He’d be that man at every club he’d go too.

happy to be proven wrong I just want peoples opinions on it

I suspect Titans have told him to try and get a matching or better offer. They'll be happy if he goes but won't pay any of his salary as they are doing with Fifita. He's on more money than Payne Haas is but should be on 25-35% less.

If the club was ever interested, he must have shut it down very quickly. As you say, would have to offer him more than 1.2mil a year. Probably something like 1.4. Not worth it.

Fale & setu are frontrunners for the wing spots atm. Good to see the new players putting pressure on the other guys.
Jury is still out as there are a few unknowns. Are Couchmans going to turn out to be the really good props we hope? Can Sele get through a large part of the season uninjured? Is Atkinson a good halfback? If so, can he combine well with Kyle or LKT?

But in my view wingers is the most pressing issue right now.

Damn! Why do I always have to be the one to point out the obvious even if no one wants to believe it? Specially now it's Christmas Eve.

What happened to CT? Hope Fale and Setu surprise a lot of people including me but this reminds me of Ben Hunt. Denied a release again and again, immediately granted a release when he questioned KF's place in the team. Is CT angling for a release?

Happy Xmas everyone. BTW I agree with Flanno on this. CT isn't fast enough for a first grade winger. I'm just wondering why Flanno has had a sudden change of heart.

Could check out what's been posted online already before spruiking some nonsense.

There's nothing at all to show ct said anything about Kyle. Somehow it comes back to Kyle though. Anything bad comes back to him to get reactions. That is trolling.
I don't know that he said anything. He denied liking the (accurate) comment from Ilias that he didn't get a fair chance. I wasn't even on KF's case like everyone else (ok, not everyone. Only 90%) until Flanno's infamous, Ask other (rival) coaches. comment. This is the comment of a coach who has lost the plot. Obviously putting what is good for his son above what is good for the club.
I thought he (or she) made a lot of sense. Why is any mention of the obvious fact KF has gotten very preferable treatment from the coach "trolling"?
Thank you sir. It's he and I've long given up or caring about unlocking the code to which players or staff can be criticised and which can't. Give it to Blake Lawrie and Peter Doust all day and no one will bat an eyelid. As I can't unlock that code I just ignore it. Happy Xmas!

Agree with most of your points, he’d be taking a gamble coming to us and yes there are clubs that are much more likely to win the comp than us.

However I disagree on the money. The Bears have exactly the same cap as us to go around 30 players so they’re not necessarily better off than us just because they still have most of their cap left to spend. They still have most of their players to find. Whether we like it or not Flanagan has managed our cap carefully. I believe the reason for that is to give him the ability to pay overs if the right player comes along. The Bears will have to pay overs for most of their players to get them across. I think Tino is on a very short list of players that Flanagan would be willing to go the extra mile for. We’d need to beat his Gold Coast salary by a couple of hundred to make it work. So $1.4 might be the number. Will be interesting to see if those other clubs you mentioned can go that high. Tino, Payne and KK are the 3 available front rowers who could genuinely lift our club.

We don't really have a genuine marquee at the club so I think we should spend that extra to get one. The club has been hard pressed over a few seasons to sign a prop who can lead the way and for the young ones, who are coming through, to learn and develop with the aid of an "elite" forward.

When you do have a player who can dominate the front row, his halves can usually back up and set up the attack much better. Defence wise, the front rower can do more effective tackles that count.

So, go get him DA.

I would go 1.2 mil a year of KK over 5 years. He would be the best signing we have made, since I don't know when. He would be like when Souths couldn't sign anyone and then signed Roy Asotasi. That was the signing that got the ball rolling for Souths. KK is a very good prop. A few years ago, I saw him fill in at prop for one game, while his normal position was second row. There and then I said, I would sign him to play prop for us on big money. I am not at all confident of us signing him or any other player who has numerous clubs chasing them.

I thought our offer of 1 mil a year for 5 years was good. Good for him and good for the club. Any more and it's good for him, not so good for the club.

Hi Chris. I think that If we don't go all the way to sign a good prop and by that I mean pay that extra if we have to, then I cannot see us landing anyone of quality. Yes it favours the player getting lots of brass, but that is the price a club like us, at the moment, has to put up or we just shut up the shop and chances of us getting anyone decent will blow out every year. The longer it continues, the harder it will get and there is no guarantee that any one of our youngsters will blossom into a hard nut prop. It is a frustrating scenario for us.

It's not so simple. Lets say we pay him 1.2 mil for 5 years but in one year LPT is as good or better. He will want at least 1 mil a year as well. 2 props on 1 mil a year or more is probably too much. Lets say KK on 1 mil and LPT on 800k is reasonable. Then there are the Couchman's who I think are going to have breakout seasons next season if they can stay uninjured. I'm all for signing him at any cost if it didn't mean we would have to lose a very promising young forward or 2.
