No Surrender
SGI Jersey Flegg

Heat didn’t help either side
Early days, but I live in hope

If you can bring the energy, enterprise and defence into most positions, I think sides can get away with more or less factory halves. Is this just a facebook rumour among Dragons fans? Because I haven't seen it mentioned by News LTD, Fairfax or independent media like Zero Tackle. I am dumb but not 'a dumb fucker' as Zuckerburg called facebook users so I have no clue what gets talked about there.
If it is true, I have to say DA is putting together a very serious team from next year. He doesn't waste time that's for sure. The halves are still a question but apart from that a really well balanced team insofar as age, size and speed.

His blood boils when he spots a loafer except for one. I guess he isn't a loafer. He tries hard but is just severely lacking talent. If you can bring the energy, enterprise and defence into most positions, I think sides can get away with more or less factory halves.
Thats why we see marquees in many other positions. Genuine game changers such as Angus Crichton, Keon, Hass, Walsh, Tedesco etc.
But I think Flanno feels more comfy with say everyone at 90% than a few at 110 and some at 50%.
That’s why his blood boils when he spots a loafer!
I think that infamous Ilias game crueled their relationship. Flanno detected an attitude he didn’t care for. That’s my best guess.
Yeah, it’s been extremely controversial. His blood boils when he spots a loafer except for one. I guess he isn't a loafer. He tries hard but is just severely lacking talent.
Analysis = trueYeah, it’s been extremely controversial.
I guess all coaches come with downsides.
Here’s a few:
Robbo, renowned for being a pork chop and bleating on at press conferences. Let Terrell May go.
Benji Marshall, can’t coach period. Without a clue.
Madge, needs a good side to win anything.
Bellamy: Man child year 8 mindset. Embarassing to the game.
Ivan: Had a good run, but is beginning to choke.
Ciraldo: relies on assistants, ability to make players worse for his time with them re Burton
etc.
Coaching is relative, I’m with DA in that a good coach, he is a high tide that lifts all boats. Gets factories over achieving.
I take your point re young Flanno. It’s a good point. He may be irredeemable.
I’d sack my kid if the team needed it, doesn’t mean I don’t love him etc. he’d expect me to probably (hopefully lol)
Before I read your post, I was already going to say, If he was that good, he would have been spoken of as NSW next fullback, but I haven't read or heard anyone else suggesting that, until I read your post.Bula is very much worth 900k to us.. we are the only club with no fullback options beyond gutho who will do a job but can no longer provide the speed we need, certainly from 2027 anyway... most clubs have 2 (or more) genuine options. I mean Bula is already on 800k, its probably more on principle the tigers dont want to be constantly over a barrel with his manager.. plus they do have a few more marquees on their books than us to balance.
I think hes a NSW Blues fullback in a few more years.. only thing holding him back would be his (and his managers) attitude.. even in that video linked above he pushes through the line and carries players for a try.. ive missed that basic ability to push through contact so badly with Sloan and Dufty before.. i.e. hes not afraid of contact...
And forget the 16-18yr old kids.. they are 8years behind Bula, thats an entire career.. and unlikely they debut at fullback even when they do get there.. im told Rokko led the attack leading in Dragons SG yesterday (unsure of position though), I was wondering who would do it with Ah Kee out.. gotta say though.. sux so much we didnt get to see that team with the penrith twins, rokko, ah kee and co all playing together.. could rly do some damage.
Because he’s only eligible for QLD lolBefore I read your post, I was already going to say, If he was that good, he would have been spoken of as NSW next fullback, but I haven't read or heard anyone else suggesting that, until I read your post.
Would be a huge signing! He's only going to get better over the next few years and he's already very good.
Every player is eligible for Queensland!Because he’s only eligible for QLD lol
They can't have the Couchmans!Every player is eligible for Queensland!
The mere sighting of a Queensland number plate probably makes them eligible. They can't have the Couchmans!
Hopefully our hell of not having anyone in the NSW Origin teams ends this year. The mere sighting of a Queensland number plate probably makes them eligible.
A Queenslander has already cut me off driving this morning but it’s Australia Day, so I resisted the usual NSW response.
Not even the finger!
Happy Australia Day to Keon, thanks for playing for Australia under the pressure.
He said he thought of the history of the jersey. He’ll be happy at Saints If that’s his motivation.
Agree. I think Flanno is just being optimistic.Liddle will leave a big hole for us, I reckon he'll be out for at least 2 months.
I was hoping to see Joseph O'Neill and Daniel Anderson get a run in the halves at some point during the trials. With Liddle now injured, there’s a chance KF shifts to 14, which could open the door for O'Neill and Anderson to start at 6 and 7.Liddle will leave a big hole for us, I reckon he'll be out for at least 2 months.
I agree with what you say George. Kyle #14 and O'Neill and Atkinson in the halves. I think that O'Neill would be best at 7 and Atkinson at 6.I was hoping to see Joseph O'Neill and Daniel Anderson get a run in the halves at some point during the trials. I think you’re right, Dave. I haven’t seen a lot of Daniel Anderson, but he strikes me as more of a running five‑eighth, whereas Joseph O’Neill looks like a genuine organising halfback.I agree with what you say George. Luciano has been notoriously overpaid.I think you’re right, Dave. I haven’t seen a lot of Daniel Anderson, but he strikes me as more of a running five‑eighth, whereas Joseph O’Neill looks like a genuine organising halfback.
