Trial Game 1 v Knights

Yeah he's the only one that surprises me, was struggling to make the flegg side, then filled in due to injury in nsw cup later in the year.. and now a 1st greade trial.. might literally just be an 'all bodies on deck' situation.

I went looking for his name in the extended also.. cause without Sua/Egan out, and im not actually sure what they are doing with Nick positionally... that only leaves Ryan and Halangahu who I doubt will play 80 in a trial.. so who is their sub? CST & Coutts are probably it.. unless they rly have been priming him as a prop, either way we will find out on the weekend!

Note that Toby is not really considered a fringe prop, so his inclusion is interesting.. maybe they just want him to do some minutes.
Agree coming back from a serious injury I would have him in and next week as well

Well so much for the coach stating we would hit the ground running with our strongest available. A red herring there.

Im not going to second guess a premiership winning coach but any time on the park for your new play making pair would have been a gimme in my day but obviously not in today's game.

Back up hookers are there with Finau and Fagalilo and all our back up play makers LKT, Reed and O'Neil. Be interesting to watch.
At first glance, Jo, I honestly thought you’d posted the NSW Cup squad by mistake. It’s a long way from what I expected, but I’m actually pretty happy to see some of the up and comers getting a run alongside players with solid first-grade experience. I guess this means the Charity Shield now becomes the main hit‑out before Round 1.

Thats how I see it George Sancti George Sancti just to me I would have thought even a 20 min stint by our new halves pairing is better than none but I never made 1st grade coach

It's a trial game, a glorified hit out. Look at the bulldogs and cowboys, both named plenty of reserves. These games are where you play depth players. I'm glad LKT & Reed are getting a run in the halves because they're next up if Atko and/or Kyle get injured. We've also got a big few weeks coming up, need our best 17 fresh as possible both physically & mentally.

My only reservation was I would have thought our new pairing in the halves could have had say a 20 min hit out in reality they have to play 80 min next week before they board the plane to LV

Dont know about this one, they havent got

Dont know about this one, they havent got Brown, I think this is a massive smoke screen, TPH at 14 ? Oh well someone must know what they are doing, should be fun to watch. No Luch, Su'a etc this game is just a hit out nothing more, lets hope for no injuries at the very least.
I’d much rather see Brown there than Sandon Smith, J Justadragon. I still haven’t recovered from Anzac Day last year when Smith made us look like a bunch of fourteen year olds.

Is one Couchman going to be turned into a backrower? In theory they'd both make very good backrowers but have always seemed to excel in the middle much more.

Mate, R Couchman has always been a backrower to me and Toby a prop even though im of the opinion he isn't big enough to be a bookend. Just my views

Yes we know your continuing personal views on the coach and his son so there is no reason to continue with it. Sometimes there is a reason behind team selections that we are not privy too. But I can tell you this with certainty this season 6 will be KF, 7 will be Atkinson.
Excuse be but who is the Random Dragon f*wit to tell anyone else he or she can't give his opinion about the team?

What's 20mins going to do for them verse the risk of injury? Imo if you play them then do so for significant mins. We also don't know their training loads etc. I think this team is fine.
