I basically agree with your whole post. Again, it would take some good negotiating and recruitment skills on Anderson's and Flanno's part to get his signature and for Purdue and his management to see us as an attractive destination. We did it with Koloamatangi, so lets do it again. Koloamatangi did say something like he was impressed with where we were heading, had a good young pack and he wanted to come and play for us. That was very encouraging to hear/read. Lets hope his signing can lead to other top like signing, like when Souths recruited Roy Asotasi.

I read somewhere that Koloamatangi's contract also includes an extra 200K TPA. If true that is very encouraging and would have played a major role in getting his signature. If we could do the same with Purdue or other big names, that would help our chances of signing the best players available.

If you are talking about Kane Reed being our 19 year old junior I agree again and would love to see him partnered with Purdue in the halves. I think Reed is a natural halfback and the best young halfback I have seen us have for a long time. Matty Head is the only one who is comparable to him.

I was saying Purdue would make a top fullback before I heard or read anyone saying he would.

Huge risk signing someone like him on big $$$$ to play fullback when he hasn't played there in first grade yet.

Better to sign Bula or Koula for less.

Unless Manly don't want him, I can't see us poaching Koula. They have just lost DCE, Jake Trbojevic is off contract at the end of this season and probably won't get paid half what he is on now to re-sign and Tom is on less money for next year, his last in his current contract. Bula is a much better chance but Tigers are reportedly offering him just under 1 million a year. So for us to poach him, we are looking at a million a year. Is he worth that? I'd stick with Gutho for next year and make arrangements for the following year at a later date. Maybe Val to fullback for his last year.

We’ve also got Jasais Ah Kee who has sort of become the forgotten man because of the injury (which could be a blessing in disguise trying to retain him)

I said it last year and I think it’s still true that he is the most ‘gifted’ player we have. Just a superb footballer who could genuinely be incredible at 6/7 or 9 if he wanted to. Would be an absolutely huge retention for the club.
He’s the sort of young gun that deserves a top 30 deal at a young age if it’s required to keep him.

The best 17 soon to be 18 year old in the country and it’s not really close IMO

I have also mentioned other players I would like us to sign, but most of them are not off contract at the end of this year. Other posters are also welcome to talk about players they think or would like us to sign.
I also won't be surprised if you get numerous others letting there opinions known to lock it or shut it down. I don't see what the problem with thread is, just like I didn't see what the problem with the Location, Location, Location thread was. I would even say it is boarding on "bullying". I am talking football and about St George Illawarra.
There is obviously a contingent on this site who is anti "Frank Facer" and they will most likely support the locking down or deleting of this thread.
It also may age very well, but if it is locked down or deleted, then that will mean it won't be able to be re hashed.
Purdue is off contract and would be a major signing.

The term "Free speech" is meant to protect all speech, especially "unpopular speech". So saying something is "unpopular" isn't even valid in my opinion.
I am in no way being offensive or threatening, "hate speech" or anything along those lines. I can handle push back or snide remarks and whatever else, but it feeling like bullying. But I am strong enough to handle it.

There is a thread on the other forum about a player who doesn't even play for us anymore and who left us at the end of 2024 that is up to 150 pages plus. I don't even bother reading it anymore.

We have multiple threads which deal with the recruitment topic. It unnecessarily creates confusion as some posters are posting on different threads about the same topic. You don't need to create a thread for every little topic, you can look through threads created & find the most appropriate one to post your comments. If everyone started creating a thread for their comments then it'd lead to an absolute shit show. We don't need to complicate something simple.

This isn't just for the current users but future users who want to contribute without having to figure out which one of the duplicate threads to post their comments. It's a bit of common sense, which is sometimes uncommon. This one can be merged with existing threads or change the title to 'Franks Fantasy'.

But as I said before, I don't have a major issue with it unless it keeps happening but then again, why would you have an issue with it if it's moved or merged? Multiple threads covering the same topic are a mess. I think at some stage in the next month, I'm going to go through old threads, which no one probably looks in any more and merge them with threads covering the same topic.
