It's a lesson for Flanno. NZ coach took a team going nowhere in a hurry and turned them into premiership contenders. Flanno took a team going nowhere in a hurry and thus far has made them worse.

To me Webster is better than Flanno as a Head Coach in this day and age of the NRL. He knows the players he needs, he knows how to coach them and he has good game plans - all relative I think to his time under Ivan Cleary or Penrith's football system. Same as Ciraldo. If, and it is a big if, we beat the Storm on Saturday night then I will be very pleased like all of us will and then my judgement of Flanno will go up a notch.

I'm keeping my powder dry until RD 6, after that depending on where we are, all bets are off.
I think Webster is clearly better than Flanno. This doesn't mean Flanno is not good. It's just that Webster is in the top bracket of coaches. Cleary and Ciraldo are good too. I think that Cleary and the Panthers' system benefited from having Webster and Ciraldo as assistants just as much as they benefitted from being under him and in that system. Webster has not had the benefit of the marquee signings that helped to turn the Dogs around. Webster has largely done the job with players that were surplus to requirements elsewhere.

Flanno has been really bad so far. One only needs to look at the position on the table for the last 2 years.
I think he's getting better. Many said Flanno did well in 24. I disagree. I think we were poor in 24. We had a couple of good games when things fell our way, but copped several floggings and we were often woeful. We were much better last year than in 24 (despite what the ladder says). This year we look better again. I think and hope that he's learnt some lessons since his first season.

Todd Payten's coaching days I think are numbered. Currently getting a hiding from the Tigers 28-2 at half time. How good is it to see some good attacking footy. I'm waiting for the day when we will have great attacking games, it's been a while when we have had consistency in this area of the game. I used to look forward to our games when our attack was something you couldn't wait to see from week to week.
We will have a great attacking game when we play the Cowboys.
