FFS. He's had 3 years! This squad is of his making. Every coach wants Nathan Cleary and Payne Haas. Most don't get them. They have to fall back on a practice that is distinct from recruitment: COACHING.

With the exception of Fisher-Harris, who wanted to move back home, Warriors have mostly recruited players who couldn't get a game elsewhere. They have done quite well with these players.

Even the Melbourne spine that played yesterday were not in high demand before they got to Melbourne. Bellamy and his system COACHED them into becoming great players. They didn't replace Cameron Smith by signing the big name hooker of the day Damien Cook. Instead, they developed Harry Grant.

If Flanno can't coach the players he has, he's not a good coach. If he says he needs big name players but can't get them, he is not a good recruiter. Either way it is not working.

I've got a strong feeling that Flanno will be retained for a few years yet. He won't deserve it but my guess is that he will have several chances to redeem himself along the way this year.

Brad Arthur isn't the worst of the bunch of coaches wanting to get back into being a head coach in the NRL. Would he be that x factor coach that can at least get us playing more attractive footy and winning games if indeed Flanno does get the big chop?

It just depends how bad the first half of the year goes.. right now our fans are wrist-slitting with 0 wins.. we have some soft games coming, if we can turn things around... im sure the club would MUCH prefer to keep things humming with Shane @ the helm in 2027.

But if in a month or 2 months time we end up 17th out of 17th by a fair margin.. I think conversations r happening, but I dont rly like the names that are likely to replace him either.. I dont see any obvious gun coaches out there we could bring in...

I can't speak for @jodragon40 but as far as I'm concerned, it need not be so strict. As long as you make an effort because I'm pretty sure that's what the vast majority of posters like. Though if you want to mention someone to get their attention, you need to enter the @ mark and then username without a space. Like this D Dragon David.

D Dragon David In my view, A thread topic should cover that particular topic. If you want to elaborate there is nothing wrong with saying that in the thread and then starting a new topic as suggested.

Then you can start a topic on the issues you wish to elaborate on. If you want to talk about Storm and players from other years that would require responses from other members thats how I would suggest you do it.

Comments on a particular topic should be about that topic. Otherwise it gets so bloody frustrating. Its akin waiting to catch a train from Central to Kogarah and along the way we end up at Penrith. Just my views. Keep on topic it helps everyone.

Basically all I am wanting to write about is what Bellamy has maintained for over a decade to do to make the Storm so consistent with being on top and giving some examples etc. It could be long winded like some of my posts, but as you know, when you have stuff on your mind you want to openly express it, especially if no-one at home cares to listen. LOL

Yes, I agree. We need to now not continue with this as we do have that other Thread on Flanno and his son.

When the draw came out everyone said geez Dogs then Melb, that’s 0-2. Why are people now jumping up and down when we are 0-2??

The dogs game, could have and should have won but we didn’t. Melb game we were up to our eyeballs in it with 20 to go. Few things happened, we dropped our bundle and Melb went up a couple of gears.

The next month will see where we are at. Playing 4 teams that are similar to us. Go 0-4 or 1-3 and fair enough, let’s go crazy.

I'm not jumping up and down at 0-2. I am concerned by yesterday's performance. Losing to Storm is always a possibility. Self-sabotage was dissapointing and does not augur well for the season ahead.

Mate I'm not upset that we lost to Melb, its the way we lost and the excuses that keep getting thrown up. If we cant handle a player going off for a HIA and lose our bundle because of it, then something is terribly wrong. On top of that we dont have the players that can provide an extra gear for us. IMO its very realistic that we will be 0-3, we are now saying that Parra is a must win game, and it is.

3 tries in the 15mins gutho was off the field. Fark. It was concerning hearing on comms that luch had to tell feagai where to position himself. Surely we've practiced the scenario of what occurs if we lose a fullback.
