I know it. It's what I'd try, not what I think Flanno will do. Though I think he has almost no choice but to act on it if Kyle has another bad game next round. Though I think he'll promote LKT rather than move Gutho and Holmes.
Eric, Eric, Eric no no no no no no no no no no NO. Said comments "he's been one of the best players every week" " he has a good kicking game" " he trains really hard" "he's the best we have" " we are working on getting more attack out of our halves" etc etc etc !!!

Yeah, but, I still don't understand why we don't challenge for attacking kicks as much as we should. Just about every Hughes bomb was challenged by them and just about every time it was heart in your mouth stuff. We just don't do it. Is it poor execution or lack of skill?

we dont put in attacking kicks, we step back on the inside slowly and get tackled on the last.

We did have a lot of attacking kicks when we had Lomax, but I don't think there is any player in our squad at the moment who can, with confidence and plenty of flash, chase a high kick and do an aerial to catch the ball on the full and maybe dive over the try line or catch and then pass to a support player who has also chased the high ball. Wouldn't you think that we should have this in our attacking armoury by now on top of some other better than average attacking schemes?

The idea to win games is to score more points than the opposition and defend those points. Work on that Flanno, Ennis and Young.

It's for defensive purposes, so we can box them into one corner with a set line. I don't like it but the Knights did it with Adam O'Brien last year, it was frustrating for their fans too. Panthers have done it, Bulldogs too.

If current interpretation with set restarts remain then all teams will have opportunity to score points through getting better field position. This makes it even more important to capitalise with good attacking players & structures. I don't think we have good attacking players compared to other teams but we have a good structure in the attacking 20.

You can also force an error from them or create 2nd phase to score on last by challenging in the aerial contest

My perspective is your always competing to score on that last play

I just had a thought. It happens once every couple of weeks. How many of these have been constants in this losing streak? I'm not sure. I don't want remember last year but I think this is accurate:
  1. Clinton Gutherson ✅
  2. Christian Tuipulotu
  3. Moses Suli
  4. Valentine Holmes
  5. Setu Tu
  6. Kyle Flanagan✅
  7. Daniel Atkinson
  8. Emre Guler
  9. Damien Cook✅
  10. Toby Couchman
  11. Luciano Leilua✅
  12. Jaydn Su’A
  13. Hamish Stewart
  14. Jacob Liddle
  15. Josh Kerr
  16. Blake Lawrie
  17. Ryan Couchman
  18. Hame Sele
  19. Mathew Feagai
I like Cook. He's been good everything considered. Luch was fat and slow last year. Been much improved so far this year. I like Gutherson as well but the speed of the modern game has clearly made him not a suitable first grade fullback. The last of the 4.....:ROFLMAO: You gotta laugh or you'll cry😓.

I was listening to Gus again today.. he went into a Ramble about us in Vegas.. his theory is that we are a very big team so we are going to tire during periods of the game (which is fair), and that we are actively looking to find ways to stop/slow the game to get around that.. he said stuff like we go looking for niggle and what not to slow it down.. and he said it was 'very frustrating' for him.. now we might choose to kick into touch or something which is our right.. but niggle I found ridiculous... I dont think ive ever seen a ref blow 2 penalties against a team with the ball in hand in any grade of football before, it was Leilua or Sua I forget who were getting frustrated in the play the ball.. but this is with the ball in our f***ing hands we arent trying to slow anything.. if anything the Dogs in that situation are the ones doing the slowing.... I was actually more upset with those 2 penalties than any of the 50/50 or whatever other decision went against us.. unheard of to be penalising the team in possession like that... and thats 2 huge moments would have tired us out.

I rly miss when Gus was relatively neutral.. hate when he has a club agenda top of mind.

Hmm. We're big in the backs & edges but not that big in the middle apart from Kerr. Also our big guys aren't very athletic. He always takes pot shots.

We're probably 2-3 players from getting the balance right for the current rules.

Pack is very athletic but not big emough. Backs are very big but not athletic enough.

KK will fill one void and if LPT can come good and stay I would say in 2027 we finally have a V8 engine. Now all we need is a driver and a half decent navigator and the ability to use that V8 engine for speed.
