He was innocent of committing a crime. True. I know about the perfect moral being casting the first stone and all that but what he did justifiably put a lot of female fans in particular offside, excuse the pun.

The most important thing for the here and now is how it relates to this thread: He was let go at the right time. He looked to have lost 2 steps of speed in the game I saw last week. He had a great career. If he came along a couple of years earlier to play or play more with Beau Scott, Mick Weyman and etc and under Wayne Bennett, and if he didn't sit out for more than 2 years, he would've been a NRL great, not just a club great.

Having said all of that, I'd still say he is better than Josh Kerr.

As for Xerri, I don't care that he was guilty of munching steroids. I just wouldn't sign him because I watched him a few times thinking with extra bulk and speed steroids offer, he'd be a star. Far from it! I can understand why he's been dropped.

Too many steroids on the brain as well. You have to be an idiot to get caught for it these days. Look at Micheal Phelps and his mysteriously diagnosed asthma after which, 3/4 of the US swim team were mysteriously diagnosed with the same asthma. Or the Chinese swimmer who suddenly came from nowhere to smash the WR only to just as suddenly fall away. Or the US swimmers whose faces mysteriously all turned purple after races last Olympics. Lance Armstrong was never caught. He was convicted due to teammates being caught and spilling the beans.

I mean to say, they are tested up the you know where and get away with it. How did Xerri get caught in an environment where testing is minimal in comparison? Don't need him at the club because he's not more than fringe first grade and because he's an idiot.

Rant over and out.
How those US athletes get away with it was revealed about the time of the last Olympics. The US anti doping organisation has been covering up positive tests from US athletes for many years. Nothing became of it rather than a lot of talking. No one was arrested or fired or the US team wasn't banned so they are probably still doing it.

As for Xerri, if he could play winger he'd be good for us. I wouldn't want him to play centre. Just catch the ball and run is what he's suited to.

I hope we pass on Xerri. Gutho and Cook arrived with genuine top‑level experience and played a real part in repairing the cultural damage left behind by a former captain. I don't think Xerri brings that sort of value on or off the field.
Yep but its been like this for a long time ( Dugan , Packer comes to mind ) this is the only way we sign a players that are troubled and nobody wants , so this could be a type of player we sign .......

A moot point as the club does not fancy Xerri either, even tho six other clubs showing interest. At only 25 with tuffness, speed and agility surely he is an outside back we badly need. The guy has done his time for his immature stupidity. And just a side point, was that not when Flanagan coached the Sharkies. No wonder he has knocked him back.

His heart obviously aint in it playing for anyone other than the RedV. Has been dropped to a bench reserve after only two games. I'd take you back in a heartbeat Jack.
I dont know what the inner thoughts of the club are RVH, some may think "glad he's gone" maybe some sort of cultural relief. Then again I think we had one year for him, and as I said hopefully he would have been our tackling coach. If he is in reserve grade now after 2 games, then who knows how this year will end up. IMHO he should just hang up the boots and try and come back to us as some sort of assistant, if the club will have him, there is no guarantee they will. But its his choice unless he really feels he has something to offer or really needs the money.

Is there such a thing as a tackling coach? I thought it would fall on the defensive coach. Would Jack be a good coach? I doubt it but you never know. I'm sure he'll be welcomed back when Parra don't take up their option for one more year at the end of this season.
Personally I think they have them Morgs, the defense coach would be good at plans and structure . Now I remember watching a Melb doco, and they definitely had tackling/wrestling coaches.

With our fifth loss looming this poor excuse for a coach has again picked the same players. He has not gambled on Reed for the obvious reason, so LKT will replace Kyle, while Tuipulotu, Gurer, and prob Kerr who should've been dumped, remain. Gutho better have a blinder as his days must be numbered at #1. And after leaving Loko Jr warming the woodwork last game, our supreme coach rewards him by relegation to the reserve bench. Jeez he sure knows how to endear himself to his players.

I agree Edward that Gutho is still a good fullback and not one of our major problems.
Mate he is too bloody slow. Yes, he puts in every week, but makes errors too. It is his job to organize the defensive line, last week he left a gaping hole when he broke it then missed his target badly giving the opposition ample room which they exploited for that vital try that probably broke our back. In the other try he again missed the tackle so in this game he failed in two vital parts of his job because of his dwindling pace and agility and that cost us 12 pts.To be fair, Tuipulotu was mostly responsible for the other try but as last line of defense Gutho should have nailed his man instead he was stepped easily..
