Defensively, kyle is the best choice
I feel our pack is stronger than Manly’s, but their backline has far more strike. The pattern this year has been fairly consistent, we match sides for the first twenty minutes, sometimes even look the better team, but once our middles begin to fatigue their outside backs cut us open.I'd suggest its just getting the kid use to game day atmosphere and being around the 1sts squad on match day. But your right after 4 ressies game he is sitting on the extended bench. Wouldn't surprise me it is also because Flanagan may not get through the game especially if he is hit hard. I was at the Titans game and he appeared to be unconscious for a short period of time after that head clash.
One of the biggest issues that I see is how predictable our attacking structures are. It isnt really working.I feel our pack is stronger than Manly’s, but their backline has far more strike. jodragon40, interested in your thoughts on what a coach might emphasise this week to stop that pattern repeating.
Thanks. I doubt Flanno reads this forum, but I’m pretty sure Tim Watsford does. Hopefully he passes the memo on.One of the biggest issues that I see is how predictable our attacking structures are. It isnt really working.
Personally I would have been training this week using alternative attacking structures. An example being instead of hitting your edge forwards by running sideways and turning the ball back inside run a structure where your play makers take on or hold up the line and cutting out your edge forwards playing out the back, offer alternatives in attack.
The emphasis for me this week at training would have be, in defence, reducing the missed tackle count which has been far too high in the last 2 games and start communicating with your shoulder defender, number off in defence.
In attack increase our completion rates and obtain better field position. Chase hard kick chase do not have a staggered defensive line.
Either way I dont think he'll use him. But to have KF at 7 again, didn't we have that last year, utter madness.Dragons team:
- Tyrell Sloan
- Christian Tuipulotu
- Moses Suli
- Valentine Holmes
- Setu Tu
- Daniel Atkinson
- Kyle Flanagan
- Emre Guler
- Damien Cook
- Toby Couchman
- Luciano Leilua
- Jaydn Su’A
- Hamish Stewart
- Jacob Liddle
- Blake Lawrie
- Jacob Halangahu
- Josh Kerr
- Hame Sele
- Kade Reed
No surprise. Coach rushes the superstar halfback or 5/8 or now halfback in.
Only surprise is how utterly useless our management is for not sacking the coach yet.
Unfortunately as a game managing HB he's nowhere near itDefensively, kyle is the best choice
His attack is the worst. Nothing at all.Unfortunately as a game managing HB he's nowhere near it
You have to play to your teams strengths which is our size. Hence the game plans are simple as are the attacking structures but if not executed boy oh boy you can cop a touch up.Thanks. I doubt Flanno reads this forum, but I’m pretty sure Tim Watsford does. Hopefully he passes the memo on.

TenterhooksMug said, There's a positional change the team list doesn't show....
What caught my eye watching the Tigers play the Eels yesterday, young Madden in attack ran to the line with plenty of speed and then passing to a support runner. Our halves don't do that. Doueihi was great as the half back. He is a very good reader of play. One of the biggest issues that I see is how predictable our attacking structures are. It isnt really working.

Fascinating.. if Gutho was available there would be a whole heap of possible changes.. but without him I'm thinking it could be:Mug said, There's a positional change the team list doesn't show....
Val back to the leftMug said, There's a positional change the team list doesn't show....
the only other one is potentially hamish playing on an edge with luch ball playing at lock, suli and holmes swap makes most sense.Fascinating.. if Gutho was available there would be a whole heap of possible changes.. but without him I'm thinking it could be:
1) Atko to Fullback (but I doubt it cause I think he wants a crack @6)
2) Val back to the left (thats the most basic of changes and long overdue)
3) Cook <> Liddle switching, dont rly feel this is necessary, just need to give Liddle more minutes
Dont think were doing anything silly beyond that.. there are more dramatic things around Kyle/LKT/Cook that I could see working, but I dont think we would do anything silly, and there is Reed, I mean maybe he does 20mins from the bench (if no injuries occur) that would be a positional change technically.. but I doubt Reed is in the equation just yet.
Hamish on an edge seems mental to me. So Flanno just might do it.the only other one is potentially hamish playing on an edge with luch ball playing at lock, suli and holmes swap makes most sense.
