Cows are losing Murray Taulagi & Purdue is going to fullback next year so they had 2 spots to fill. But yeah almost every club will be needing OBs, really slim pickings

Is there any news on who the HC could be for next year? I've not heard anything in regards to that. As for signings, Watson has gone super quiet after he reportedly already signed with us, yet has since been linked with other clubs. As for the juniors, Jacob not featuring even on the bench/extended bench is worrying me. I do believe the Couchys will stay, and Loko is 50/50 imo

Watson talk died down because Watson's PNG deal hasnt completed. That was the reason for 1 year with us ..
If he signs with PNG i expect we get him for 2027.

Other sydney clubs though are in the market for him for multi year deals and that would rule us out.

Jake playing 80 in cup doesnt bother me as much as it annoys others .. i think 80 there instead of 10m in 1sts is better for him.

Even better of he was getting 40 or 50 minutes in first grade at the expense of Kerr or Lawrie.

well lawrie hasnt played since round 8 so there are no minutes to take from him.
Kerr has been playing around 24 min a game on average ... that is the minutes you are talking about here ... 24 min of 1sts vs 80 in cup ...
With Liddle back on deck now it would potentially be even less time.

No news from me soz, half the camp swear it will 'obviously' be Deano, other half saying it'll be Hornby.. no idea where the truth lies.

And agree if we lose the couchies we can hand in our NRL licence.. the others 2 I think only stay if we have a new head coach coming that will sweet-talk them and sell the vision.. and really there is no reason the kids cant wait till mid-2027 to make their decision.. then they can see how things pan out here.. and increase their value in theory... but kids r usually pretty impulsive.. I was always nervous for Jacob cause up until recently he was off winning some new schoolboy/rep medal every 2nd week.. and posting non-stop celebratory selfies... reality of NRL was always going to be a big big change.

And yah I wonder if Watson 2 PNG has fallen through.. hence everything has changed in terms of 1-2-3yr deals now being tabled.. as always when more buyers come into a negotiation, the power dynamic shifts completely. I dont think we 'have' to sign Watson anyway, was more of a bonus signing... but we need to replace Cook with someone 1st grade standard... so a bit of a worry if we let Cook go assuming we had Watson.. but also seems Pattie is touring venues, that might mean Raiders want him moved on sooner rather than later also... either way we still need to win the contract.

Supposedly Pattie is doing the rounds and we are one of the suspects (one of serveral I'm sure).. it made no sense to me unless Raiders are happy to see him move on.... cause hes under contract till end of 28, but if hes looking now.. surely hes looking for 2027.. possibly he has the sh1ts at being #3.

I mean Ramien or Katoa would be huge upgrades for us, but Katoa is nrly 29, Ramien is 29.. both can find an injury, why would you take them over all ur young guns coming out of NQLD? Unless they r resigned to losing a few of em...

He’s good enough to be playing NRL week in week out so I can understand his frustration (if it’s true) that’s the reason he wants out

I can’t see how raiders would want to move him on unless the cap pressure is pretty serious

His ruck recognition and creativity with our forward pack would be beautiful to see

We need a strike centre/winger but also outside back depth, I don't think couchies & the south coast guys will leave if they're given a fair offer. I have less doubts with the guys we've brought over from other areas into the st.george junior sides. They don't have the same connection to the area imo. It'd suck to lose either LPT or Jacob, if we had to pick one to keep who would it be?

I loved Jacobs late footwork when playing in the middle last week, first time I've noticed it properly. Has he always been doing that? it was a bit like AFB but obvs not that level. We've also got depth in the fwd pack too & I think 2rf are easy to find. Another issue, will the game get even faster next season? if so then bench depth is crucial to rotate the fwds.

Soo many different factors but fwds good, ob's bad for us atm.

If could only keep one, definitely LPT. But hopefully can keep both.
