I should remind people that yes we’d all love Gutho to opt out of his final year and be gone but the vitriol and anger should be directed at the mugs that decided to sign him in a 3 year deal

He's played a year too long already but I believe he wouldn't be that bad if the team had decent halves, so Gutho wasn't expected to or trying to do their job for them and if the team had faster outside backs so Gutho's lack of speed wasn't as much of an issue.

Agree I think he is done for sure and passed his use by date but where do you hide him next year will there be a spot for him back up fullback surly not

Was hoping that was the case. Gotta hand it to Gutho as he plays his arse off every game. But he is the only one that can not see that his lack of pace/agility is now a liability.

stop over analysing Gutho ... Medical retirement is the absolute thing we want ... allows us to pay him out but outside the cap.
A few weeks ago post match he said something along the lines of "if i am here" .. that was a massive mistake from him ...
If we/he are looking at medical retirement he cannot talk about it now, that would open all kinds of legal/risk issues ... so for now he has to say he is keen to play and body is holding up ... that allows him to play this season and in the off season start the "i had hoped but the body has let me down" stuff.
So everything from now till the end of the season will be "yep, keen to go on"

I think it’s more the poor management of the social media side of things. That’s definitely one thing the club struggles with compared to most other nrl clubs.
The website for the first grade and cup squads is useless. For half the season the cup squad on the dragons website had players listed that had moved to other clubs, had retired or were released by the club.
For nrl, no Buchanan or Tsougranis, both are top 30, yet there are 4 other players listed who haven’t played first grade and aren’t top 30. Whoever has this job of maintaining the social media side of things isn’t working overly hard or well for their pay check. It’s embarrassing

You can't medically retire a player that had a pre existing condition at the time of contract.

I agree somewhat but the FB’s game has certainly changed over the last couple of years. In today’s game whether we had fast outside backs or not his game wouldn’t cut it. I would think the minimum at his age would be comparable to what Tedesco performances are at. And he’s nowhere near that.
