I bet you guys were optimistic when we signed Gutho, Holmes and Cook too, weren’t you?

Cook = no. Too old but I was wrong. He's been very good.

Holmes = yes but we had to pay an arm and a leg to get him.

Gutho = absolutely NO, NO, NO! Seems I was the only one at the time. Don't see any near close comparison with Mr. Drinkwater. Gutho was all effort and workrate in his prime. Drinkwater is bluechip talented.

Kyle should be the back up Hooker, and I think he will do well at it. Get rid of muhlheisen and have kyle playing 80 in cup. leaves LKT, Reed metcalfe and Atko as your halves

I reckon Drinkwater is an all-round gun. An underrated signing. Maybe because Gutho has deteriorated so quickly people are unconsciously thinking the same of Drinkwater.

Gutho hasn't deteriorated at all according to Gutho, I like him but what planet is he on, and moreso where does he play next year.

Everyone is getting too worked up about gutho, we have no control. Worry about it next year, maybe he'll find a fountain of youth in the off-season. Hopefully it's a massive fountain & he drinks it dry. I still want one more outside back, even if we keep Suli.

Just had a look at highlights of Luke Metcalf. What a signing we have with this great half. Always had high hopes that we could snare this beauty ages before he was actually signed. He obviously will be our play maker. He is far greater than what we have had in the past - beats our current ones and to me greater than the Bunt fella. Something really to look forward to guys. Glad we have the likes of Daniel Anderson doing the full R and R for the Club.

I am hoping that our attack with him, Drinky, Holmes, Sami and one of the juniors coming through to add to the back line, will be so much better for a bloody change. The defence in the forwards will be great as well. Start rubbing your hands guys because here we come.

Just on recruitment in general, it could be that Nathan Cleary will be signed up by the PNG Chiefs like Luai and Watson. The Chiefs' weapon in signing players is that remuneration is tax free but this applies to the players getting paid in PNG but when they return to Australia their income could be taxed on earnings abroad. Am I right in saying this? or is it that the players do in fact get tax free payments regardless in PNG and Australia if they sign a contract with the Chiefs?

i am in the camp of Gutho and team are saying what needs to be said to convince whoever needs to be convinced that he intends to play next year.

I also believe that something will happen post season completion and we will push the medical retirement agenda.
