He was getting some criticism earlier in the year that he wasnt up to the task, didnt have the network etc.. but I rly like having him because to me hes a rly intelligent NRL coach.. i.e. on top of his recruitment job.... he is also shrewd and is seeing whats happening with the game in general, and our squad.. and as long as his relationship with the coach is working.. i.e. they are communicating well and making decisions together... we are getting a 2nd coach/brain basically in our football dept.. if nothing else its someone for Deano to bounce off.

I guess ratchets are going to be requested by any remotely in demand player signed before 2028 (particularly with the threat of PNG/Perth/20thSide).. its hard to visualise what the new normal of prices are going to be.. but I have a feeling we may have done very well with guys like KK and Drinkwater signed on old numbers.

I do feel like we will hit a salary crunch in another ~2yrs time.. lots of young players starting to hit prime years, plus hopefully a bunch of young backs joining them.. this is a problem for another day though.. its all solvable with a spreadsheet.. but fans take years to adjust in their heads.. they are still getting used to the last cap increase.

Actually starting to feel Averillo @600k (with no ratchet) was an alright deal for the Tigers.. maybe 2027 is overpriced but good from there.. he rly would have solved everything for us, coverage for 1-2-3-4-5-6 and speed.

It's solvable with lots of TPAs and promises from Batman Bruce Wayne, I mean Bruce Gordon to "look after" players once they retire. Details worked out behind closed doors and not for public consumption. It works for the Rorters, why not us?

I think hes been unlucky with injury, like DMeafou, Heidke, Lyric.. still felt like he was the best of the 3.. but tbf Loko has rly kicked on from a guy who missed the team plane 6months ago.

From a selfish perspective I hope Latu fails cause I loathe watching the dogs as it is... and I dont think I could watch Latu if he becomes elite.

I was a bit pissed in regard to the nature he left us to join the club I hate even more than the Shonkies. I'm glad he seems to have not progressed much if at all. With Couchman x 2, LPT locked up and Halangahu rumoured to be locked up along with another "batch" of high quality forwards almost ready for NRL, honestly maybe I should get over it and wish him well because we have no need for his services.
