I'm starting to think this testing the open market is, go out and see what you are worth so we can match it and you stay where you are, oh and btw make sure you use the Dragons as one of your go to clubs.
Yes, that seems to be the way that those agents are doing things Justa and they have been doing it for some time because we are looked at as being suckers and scapegoats. This is why we are really looking at our depth being within the club itself with the juniors and getting other juniors to come to the club and becoming our marquees one day before other clubs try and poach them from us.

TBF, it's not just with the Dragons they do that.

Agree Dave I've said it for a long time now our only way out of this is via our pathways. Just like everyone else I've hoped for some signings, and we may yet get some, but our marquees are coming from within.

If we are really making a big money play for Metcalf, I guess it means LKT really is on the outer. Unless all the talk about Reed is just hype with little substance.
Yep correct Morgan, as I said in a previous posts no one really knows what is going on, that is the way Anderson plays it. Most of the time I suppose its just media Hype that drives us mad, including myself its hard to ignore when we are as desperate as what we have become, especially in recruiting. I'm trying to control myself until Nov 1 where i'll either be pleasantly surprised or immensely disappointed.

I think around the middle of November we will know what's going on. Due to the 10 day cooling off period.

Each day we get closer to November 1 without the Warriers announcing that they have resigned Metcalf, increases the odds he will be returning to Australia. What we don't know is which club he will be joining. If his destination is Sydney, the club must be Saints, Parramatta or Wests.

Doubt it'll be to the Tigers. I think their cap is maxxed out. Parramatta however still haven't gotten anyone to take Brown's 1 mil a year.

Email from Junior Amone's manager Mario Tartak to all clubs:

“I wanted to bring one of my clients to the forefront; Junior Amone, who completes his Intensive Correction Order (ICO) on 25 October 2025,”

“This means Junior will be eligible to reapply for registration to play in the NRL. In the meantime, Junior has maintained his fitness and competitive edge by playing rugby for Kiama, where he recently helped his team win the grand final. Junior has already played 54 NRL games and represented Tonga in 3 Test matches before being stood down.

“He is an exceptionally talented half who is eager for an opportunity to get back into the game as he is also only 23 years old. If you’re interested in discussing Junior’s return or potential opportunities for the upcoming season, please let me know. I’d be happy to arrange a chat as we prepare for the pre-season in November.”

Good luck to him but for me, the Dragons have seen enough of him already.

Been there, done that. But I'd bet with a better coach who can instill some defensive steel in him and a better halfback than the formerly very good hooker, Ben Hunt, he'll go much better.
