Much has been said about Sloan and we all know his good and bad points. His weaknesses have stood out over the years but there is something that has me thinking that with his deep love of the Club, his new determination of taking the ball up harder, scoring most tries in firsts, becoming bigger and stronger all over, can be a good back up for the full back position if Drinky cops an injury, playing much better on the wing and is one player that can run the field to score a try, the Dragons could offer him a counter deal that sees him renege on his deal with the Castleford Tigers and remain a StGI Dragons. Anything is possible. Just have to wait and see if he actually flies off to Pommie land.

I think it was on this forum I read a deal could be made, or could've been made if Suli left but seems Suli is digging his heels in and Sloan will be jetting off to the UK for preseason training. I think he's gone, for better or worse. It's a shame he left it so late to start tackling much better and running much harder and being an all-round much better winger.

I hope we don't keep sloan. He's still not in the top half of nrl wingers and he'd be below Holmes & sami as wingers. He looks good in our shitty backline, doesn't mean he's actually good.

Also to have Atkinson and Watson on the bench isn't the best idea, IMO. Go with Webster or Nick T. Actually, I'd drop Kerr and go with both Nick T and Webster on the bench.

Me too Justa. The puzzle will be solved in the new year I am sure. Experience and reputation comes in handy in lots of work/trades/business but age comes to everyone and if Gutho has reached that stage where he cannot compete even with our juniors, then he should reconsider his career in league. Young needs to grow a pair and he cannot always be the good fella amongst the players all of the time. He has decisions to make with Gutho, Kyle and Atko. Three guys that Flanno wanted.
