It's the right call but I just don't really understand why it wasn't just Gutho. I guess he will be the main captain when both are on the field.

Gutho is going to be on for 80 min a game, Cook won't. Gutho has vast experience as a captain, Cook doesn't. I don't know why Flanno needs to complicate the issue but lets see how they go.

Sometimes it may be called for. Like if the natural captain has to rest during the game. I just don't think it's called for in this instance but I don't think it'll create any problems.
In my day he was called the vice captain
Probably Gutho is captain but Flanno wanted Cook to be treated a bit more importantly than vice captains usually are. I think Cook will be the forwards captain and Gutho will be the captain.
Gee I know I'm old and the game has passed me by but I love tradition. Captain leads the team, the vice captain has the same responsibility but only addresses the team when required such as when captain leaves the field. The captain and vice communicated with each other constantly. I wouldn't undersell the value of your vice captain but that is just me. Too many chiefs and not enough indians is not a good look in a team sport.
I have no issue with it, Yeo and Cleary co-captains certainly hasn’t hindered Penrith.
Shows how much I know. I thought Yeo was Penrith's captain.
Hang on , it's just my view. Never believed in co captains, I do though believe in coexistence ask my wife of 45 yrs. I'm not saying it's wrong I'm saying in my day 1 Cpt and 1 V/Cpt that's all
Me either apart from one little thing. Like work, you have toiled for years with some aspirations of one day becoming a manager then suddenly your business recruits 2 people from outside and low and behold your overlooked. It can rub some people up the wrong way and affect that business. Just my personal experience and views
That's a good point but I think it's fine for the Dragons as it seems there are no other talkers who were ready to take over. JDB and Su'A would've been candidates if they were talkers.

If Ryles can get that Parra side flying without RCG & Gutho.. he will have my respect.. I cant even fathom it... but wont make any judgements on any side until that first 2 months go by.. the first rounds are always very random, up & down etc.
They have one of the softer draws to start the season + think they go good with that halves combination. Moses and Brown is the 2nd best halves pairing in the NRL now that luai has left Penrith. Should have them competing for a top 8 spot pending injuries
