2025 Round 1 vs Canterbury

Couldn't watch the game no power at moment up here. Watched the scores update on the app and it would appear that we showed a bit of intestinal fortitude and didn't throw it in. Looking at the stats 2 forwards JDB/ T Couchman ran for the required 100m the Bulldogs had 4 forwards so to keep the score to 8 points doesnt appear bad on face value.

Well, I was there. Were on top early including a penalty try. Loved Crichton getting upset and arguing with the ref. Then they gained the momentum. Does anyone think a few of their tries were forward passes ? It only changed when Liddle came on…then we should have gone to golden point. Holmes missed a sitter and we then kept dropping the ball

So a loss but we showed some ticker and promise that's good

Yep add their respective 38 and 44 tackles and this pair led the pack. Toby now appears to be growing into the bookend role, but looks like his brother has a season ending ACL injury. Rotten luck if so. Suppose it does now open a spot for another. Not saying LPT tho as he is a little raw to take a permanent bench spot at present, as is FL. No to Egan, Nick T? Flanno will want Eisenhuth you can lay bets.

Power back on just watched the replay.

Dogs 1st try poor defensive read by Feigai we simply didn't number up on the last, cardinal sin.

Our 1st try good structure good combination Holmes/CT should be a good source of points this season.

Dogs 2nd try Feigai error. Set move off the scrumbase, poor defensive reads again. Poor try to give up.

Dogs 3rd Feigai missed tackle poor again defensive read came in.

Dogs targeting our right edge defence.

2nd Half

Dogs 4th try beautiful set up again targeting Illias/Su'a by a big edge forward made them look like kids trying to tackle men.

Dogs 5th try really poor defensive structure same backrower slices through the meat of our middle non existent defence.

Game over people commenting that they will put 50 on us. Then some grit and determination.

Dragons try again CT good attacking structures like the look of that side of the park.

Dragons try by Liddle great football brain saw defence had back to him and showed amazing toe and deception.

Dragons try CT that edge wow and 2nd 3rd 4th phase football very good.

Alas all too late. So to my eye teams will be targeting our right edge they see a weakness in the Illias/ Su'a defensive structure. Illias was rusty but to be expected they ran at him all day, fatigue got him.

Stats show our best forward again JDB and T Couchman attack wise running 100m +. Not competitive in that area, Dogs 4 forwards. Our halves combination wasn't effective in attack neither ran for many metres, Flanagan 17m? can that be right? Illias 35m. Cook 4 runs only 27m? Not good enough from your play makers in my view. Completion rate 68% you cant win games with stats like that.

Defensive stats kept us in the game . To only lose by 8 isn't bad considering those stats. Hopefully our play makers improve but the pack needs to be going forward to lay the platform. Guler may get suspended so it may be a Couchman/ JDB prop pairing next week with hopefully young Tonga off the bench.

Souths will be on a high next week after a tough win against the Dolphins and you can bet your bottom $ Walker will be targeting that right edge defence.

But he needs to be dramatically better leading the team around or else yeah
He was heavily targeted as Ciraldo knows the promise this guy has. The weak link in this combo is Flanno jr, so god forbid if his old man moves him into first receiver. Flanno has to persevere with our new half recruit.
