Mug Fan who identified and hired Gorrell? i believe he came from country coaching, but so far, he has been amazing with the squad he has had.Gorrell is a former Dragons player and local Illawarra junior. He played with Dean Young and Ben Creagh so has connections at the club. I don't know who hired him.

I will be really interested to see what they do next year assuming Talau is the NRL assistant...
It is what it is.. but I would love to have a few coaches without NRL aspirations that might sit in those roles for 5yrs or more.. its exhausting trying to replenish the junior squads each year + the coaches from all the grades..

Goz was already working for the club as a scout while coaching Gundagai to a premiership. He also coach Riverina and NSW Country reps.
He applied for the job and was hired by Haran same guy who hired Talau.
