I would pick Slater, but I doubt he would even be interested in talking to us, just like he wasn't last time.

I like what Talau has done in his time coaching our NSW Cup team. He may also be a drawcard for potential players of Polynesian heritage.

Ben Hornby would be my next pick.

My question is will a new coach be able to do what the last 4 haven't been able to do? Will our recruitment improve? Would any of you take the job if you were aspiring young coaches? I don't think I would take it. I would be waiting for a job at one of the clubs based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

You could call our coaching job a poisoned chalice.

On average there’s 3-4 new coaches every season

We would absolutely be the least enticing team right now but with the new COE and some of the young talent in the top 30 there’s scope for a big bounce back in the next 18-24 months

Just gotta get better in the spine + decent coaching and we’ll be competitive again

Looking at the reserve grade team, there are plenty of green shoots. I think we would be very enticing for a coach from next year. But really need a couple of good, fast, young outside backs.

Young interim coach
I thnk it will be Hornby or Morris as coach.
Would still like to see Cheika hired maybe GM

Question - Loko came out last week and actually played some decent footy - perhaps a little more arrogance in that game than his 10 games entitle him to but the impetuous of youth etc ... was better than others we have seen play.

If Young is it good/bad for Loko?

Will Ennis survive?

I don't think Young has been a great communicator with the young players coming through. But to be fair I think Flanagan has been a disgrace on this front.

What's the track record of recent coaches under Bennett being successful head coaches? I remember price struggled with us, woolf is struggling at the dolphins.

I want someone from that panthers system, ciraldo and Webster have both been successful. Improved players and improved the team.

I don't know much about him but from what I have read on this forum, I really like the idea of Cheika as head coach and Talau as one assistant. Though I think head coaches usually pick their own assistants.

Matt King was mentioned as a possible candidate in a Foxsports article. He played under Bellamy and has been part of Easts coaching staff and NSW coaching staff.

Fox via DT is calling it Disastrous Dragons presser🤡. These clowns are sticking the boot in as much as they can now because they fear things are going to go on a long, upward trajectory from now. I don't see the issue of not announcing the interim coach and yet. They have enough people around the club to get by without an interim coach for a few hours or even a few days. No need to rush into anything. The most important thing was getting rid of those two clowns who have brought the club into disrepute. Though one more thing they need to do is get rid of KF. To put this whole sorry episode well and truly behind us.

New Coach has a lot of work to do getting our spine up to first grade standard

Our pack is okay
For 2027, a spine of Drinkwater, Atkinson, Reed and Liddle is a pretty good improvement on the current. Cookie 14.

Forwards are coming along well with the youngsters, trim a few plodders like Lawrie, Guler, maybe Kerr and Sele. Bring in Egan, Halangahu, LPT, Tsougranis.

Outside backs. Got Sami, try and grab Averillo and Xerri, another fast winger too.

Removing Flanno and his out dated game plans and Haran is a big step forward. In time Kyle will be dealt with too.
