Flanno on the Pod.
He talks about what I have mentioned several times before, the impact on the cap of junior player debuting.
No one at the club will tell Young the honest truth, he’ll get coddled and told he’s not far off being a coach when he hasn’t proven to be successful in anything he’s done coaching wiseHow could Ryan Carr be the #1 candidate for any head coaching gig? Maybe none of the higher tier aussie coaches are applying, I wish Dean Young would go apply though.. would love him to go do his apprentiship properly... think it will be a grave error if he takes a head nrl gig now.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Carr is moved on to take a position in the Super League and his place taken at the STGI Dragons by Willie Talau as an assistant to Shane as the attacking coach.I loved hearing the mental gymnastics to not put any blame on Kyle for the field goal losses
seperate to this btw - English media saying Ryan Carr the #1 head coach candidate for castleford tigers

How so?Bit or a lot of passive aggressiveness from Chris McEwan there when he talks about Dragons needing a rebuild and saying "we are in a similar position to the Bulldogs 3 or 4 years ago." Flanno could do nothing but agree though he must have been seething.
Not sure what happened with Coops but Sowie had his chance. He shouldn't blame the club for him being a bad coach. He should thank the club for giving him a chance.Mass player snubbing of Dragons’ premiership reunion
Two serious falling outs with the club at centre of St George Illawarra’s sad 2010 premiership reunion where only five attended
Only five members of St George Illawarra’s 2010 premiership-winning squad turned up to a 15-year reunion on Saturday at Kogarah.
What a sad state of affairs that only Dean Young, Ben Creagh, Jason Nightingale, Michael Weyman and Dan Hunt, who didn’t play in the grand final, were there to be presented to the crowd with the trophy on old-boys day.
It’s no secret that two players from the premiership winning side – five-eighth Jamie Soward and centre Matt Cooper - have had serious falling outs with the club.
Three years ago, Cooper said in an interview: “there is no loyalty and honour anymore. It changed when Wayne Bennett left. It all starts from the top… that’s where the culture comes from.”
More recently Soward has spoken of his ill feeling towards the club.
He was sacked as coach of the club’s NRLW side last year and didn’t hold back in an interview with James Graham on his The Bye Round podcast, saying “I never felt wanted. “People say, ‘Why’d you leave the Dragons?’ The Dragons got rid of me. “For me personally, I’ve never felt comfortable, like I was part of the Dragons club. “It’s really sad because it is such a proud, historic club.”

Amazing range from Bomber playing for the Dragons to Hayden too young to remember.
My story.
I watched it at home with my son, father and grandfather. 4 generations.
My Pa was 92 now passed but has seen every Dragons GF live at the ground or on TV.
That may be true but from some of the stories coming out about reunions and ties with past players, the club really needs to fix culture at all levels. Both are flogg that think its all about them.
No matter what anyone's personal views are of this situation. To the independent community we are making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Something we have been doing consistently since before BBQgate.
Obviously not being privy to the actual facts of this matter it is still not a good look to have 5 players from our last premiership winning team turning up for the old Boys promotional day, it should of been a day of celebration its just so very sad.
This issue appears not to be an isolated incident and therefore in my view it goes to the very basic embodiment of what type of culture is in our football club.
To me personally it is a very sad indictment on our club and only confirms to we what was told to me many years ago by my friend who was involved with the club that the Dragons were a no go area for player managers for recruitment or retention because our perceived lack of discipline and poor culture.
It is important that we put aside personal differences and move forwards in a positive manner both on and off the field if we are again to be a force in this competition and not just another club making up the numbers.
Just my views.
There you have it....... It's a shame the media can't be trusted, even in sport.Old boys day is the key here.
They had over 20 players turn up, good result.
Buzz didn't report on that, he found a angle that made us look bad and went for it.
Don't know what's happening with Coops but it really seems Sowie is bitter over being sacked as NRLW coach. He shouldn't be. Look at his results. That may be true but from some of the stories coming out about reunions and ties with past players, the club really needs to fix culture at all levels.
You have to admit though it's bad publicity and it's the perception that such stories create.Old boys day is the key here.
