I think there are things happening behind the scenes average fans aren't privy to. In my view Flanno was way out of his depth managing the roster, salary cap and coaching the team. As for Dean Young, it's really disappointing looking from the outside in how he has performed. I wanted him to do well and he might yet. I doubt he'll get the Newcastle job. Not after being an assistant for this year at the Dragons.

In my view it's going to be an interesting off season. "Action packed" one might say. Who is going to get promoted, who is going to leave and who is going to get recruited.

I didn't know where to put this enquiry so I thought that this Thread might be OK.
I'm not a tactician in terms of footy attacking plays, far from it, but you guys might have more of an idea to my enquiry and that is - in attack, would the club have several best attacking moves that they can use on a regular basis? They would need to have several that might be a little similar so that the opposition think that they know the move, but we apply a variation to fool them etc.
I know that the club has set moves but there has to be best ones that we can usually score from if executed with precision - which is a big factor. Our attacking raids just don't seem to be great raids.
Next year without fail, our defence will need to be as tight as the proverbial. No letting easy tries being scored. Its one big improvement that has to be made for 2026.

It is Official that the new Community and High Performance Centre in the University of Wollongong's Innovation Campus will be named The Bruce Gordon Centre in honour of part owner Bruce Gordon who as we know spends many hours at our games and is hoping that we win a premiership one day soon.

What an utter disgrace, how has Bruce Gorden made this club successful, we havent played finals in 7 years and not made a GF in 15 years. Another wasted opportunity to be business savvy and get sponsorship naming rights that could possibly go towards our non existent TPA's so at least we can compete with other clubs. Has anyone seen this guy, isn't he in the Bahama's. The only thing BG could do to make this club successful is sell his ownership and get as far away as possible from the club. I would have called it the Squadron Energy COE, and got some hooch out of Twiggy. I dont know if naming it after one of the immortals would do justice to all of them, say Norm Provan etc, That is why I'd just keep it a commercial entity.

Usually back in the day buildings like these were named after legends not company owners. I would have gone for one of if not two out of these names:
Reg Gasnier, Graeme Langlands, Johnny Raper, Norm Provan and Frank Burge who just happen to be immortals but that's just me.

I get your point Jo, but these days it's about getting the funds to compete. Newcastle calls their one the Newcastle Permanent COE, every year there you have it, sponsorship naming rights. They get players like Ponga we get players like KF.

Im too old and set in my ways. I understand your views but if recent history has taught me anything money is not the end all. Players just don't want to play for us, we'll at least decent players no matter what money is thrown at them. It should have been named after a legacy player not a business owner. Just my views

Just when I thought the club had turned the corner, they make a call like this. With so many positive options such as former Dragons players who originated from the Illawarra or the university or even a geographic reference which links the two regions. In addition, there does not appear to be any public record of WIN Corporation even contributing to the Community and High Performance Centre.
