Good call, except in Hunts case I'd call it the non-performance COE.The Benny Hunt Centre for Excellence
As George Sancti earlier said - "In addition, there does not appear to be any public record of WIN Corporation even contributing to the Community and High Performance Centre". So who is crawling up Brucie's proverbial then? We need an owner who is front and centre and willing to appear at important functions and games and present awards and what not. Wouldn't any of us do that. I for one would. Look at Nick Politis. He is doing the right thing for the Roosters. We have Bruce, Nowhere Man, Gordon - who?Is this dude, Brunce Gordon or Bruce Wayne or Batman or whoever he is apart from a dude 'investing for profit' in the club even putting any extra, non tax deductible, money into the centre?
Good news is, name is easy to change. The minute he kicks the bucket and whoever it is knows can't get any more bones thrown to them or kickbacks whatever this farce is, they can change the name.As George Sancti earlier said - "In addition, there does not appear to be any public record of WIN Corporation even contributing to the Community and High Performance Centre". The general public would not have a clue who Bruce Gordon is and in years into the future his name won't mean a damn thing on that Centre in my opinion.
Stadiums names change all the time, except they do it for sponsorship, we are too stupid to go that way.Good news is, name is easy to change. The minute he kicks the bucket and whoever it is knows can't get any more bones thrown to them or kickbacks whatever this farce is, they can change the name.
Stupid and stubborn Justa.Stadiums names change all the time, except they do it for sponsorship, we are too stupid to go that way.

When you think about it, doesn't it show how small our senior staff are? Instead of a successful team which would make everyone love them, and make them more financially successful in the long term, they prefer to kiss ass of a rich old man for a few spare dollars now. Such a small imagination.Just when I thought the club had turned the corner, they make a call like this. With so many positive options such as former Dragons players who originated from the Illawarra or the university or even a geographic reference which links the two regions. In addition, there does not appear to be any public record of WIN Corporation even contributing to the Community and High Performance Centre.
A broken clock is right twice a dayGee I'm glad I started this conversation![]()
You know you love it JO.Gee I'm glad I started this conversation![]()
Im too old school for my own good but to name a COE after a board member, well that will do meYou know you love it JO.
It rings bells of disaster!!!Im too old school for my own good but to name a COE after a board member, well that will do me
100% Ryan. I have managed to get over the emotional disappointment of this decision. I'm now thinking of the business and marketing opportunity that they have ruined. We now have one of the most advanced high-performance centres in the country. Had we named it after a former player or several players spanning multiple eras, the official opening could have been massive. The centre could be opened to the public and former players organised to demonstrate the features of facility. I suppose they could still do something along this line, however the Bruce Gordan Centre sounds more like a retirement home to me.Batman

Maybe there is a retirement complex called the Bruce Gordon Centre for all we know and that the Administrators of that complex could say that they had the name first in honour of the late Bruce Wayne Gordon who was dedicated in following and attended all of the ping pong games in the district. Well, you never know!! So that will mean that the Community and High Performance Centre for the Dragons will have to be renamed before its official opening.100% Ryan. I appreciate the sentiment Dave, and I share your hope that the centre will need to be renamed before its official opening.Maybe there is a retirement complex called the Bruce Gordon Centre for all we know and that the Administrators of that complex could say that they had the name first in honour of the late Bruce Wayne Gordon who was dedicated in following and attended all of the ping pong games in the district. The naming of the centre is comical so that is why I am joking of course.
Maybe I'm kidding myself but I like to think there is something the general public isn't privy to. Like $100 mil grant in his will. He's almost 100. He probably doesn't even realise this is going down.100% Ryan. I have managed to get over the emotional disappointment of this decision. At last, someone has been able to put a positive spin on the situation. Well done, Eric, I will sleep better tonight.Maybe I'm kidding myself but I like to think there is something the general public isn't privy to. Like $100 mil grant in his will. He's almost 100. 100% George, the Dragons have been a retirement home for many a player, we should also have an Alzheimer's ward to cater for the players who cant remember what its like to be in finals or god forbid win a premiership.100% Ryan. Hmm dont know about that Eric, a billionaire in the Bahama's, who would care less about a performance center in the Gong.Maybe I'm kidding myself but I like to think there is something the general public isn't privy to.
