Dragons v Dogs Round 1

The Word

So much we don't know. Flanagan is big on young players signing contracts prior to being given runs in the first team. The theory being we are going to commit to your future by playing you, so you need to commit to the club by signing a contract. This has happened with a number of the juniors he's debuted, including Loko. If a player then refuses to sign the contract you know there's a bloody good chance his agent has told him to hold off as there will be some big offers coming his way in November. That usually means they're as good as gone, because we can't compete with third party deals, or with being able to offer the chance of winning the comp (yet). In these scenarios I think the coach is within his rights to stay strong to his values and drop him for someone who actually wants to be at the club.

Like I said we don't know what's going on but if they've offered him a new deal which he's refused to sign that could explain a lot.

Anyway this is all an unfortunate distraction from the actual topic of this thread. Knocking the dogs off in Vegas.
