he said he was staying to watch the junior rep games on the weekend.. that other story sounds more accurate.
Yes, very unfortunate TW.So much we don't know. Flanagan is big on young players signing contracts prior to being given runs in the first team. The theory being we are going to commit to your future by playing you, so you need to commit to the club by signing a contract. This has happened with a number of the juniors he's debuted, including Loko. If a player then refuses to sign the contract you know there's a bloody good chance his agent has told him to hold off as there will be some big offers coming his way in November. That usually means they're as good as gone, because we can't compete with third party deals, or with being able to offer the chance of winning the comp (yet). In these scenarios I think the coach is within his rights to stay strong to his values and drop him for someone who actually wants to be at the club.
Like I said we don't know what's going on but if they've offered him a new deal which he's refused to sign that could explain a lot.
Anyway this is all an unfortunate distraction from the actual topic of this thread. Knocking the dogs off in Vegas.
Fundamentally I agree with him but I think he weighs more than 74kg. I think he's about 80 now.Yes, very unfortunate TW.
Obviously there are some good reasons why Loko will miss the plane that only a few people know. I'm certainly not going to speculate but we will know sooner or later.
Flanno has stated that those who think Kade Reed should be playing against the Bulldogs, should rethink the situation which he gives his reasons in the Foxnews report below.

100% agree with this, Reed at 74kg would just be a speed bump. Yeah he might be able to handle getting crushed but then he has got to dust himself off and set up plays, run the team etc. Yeah nah, I'd be happy for a debut at the end of the season, if things progress. Atkinson and KF have to step up or the pressure will be on.Yes, very unfortunate TW.

Yeah using a bit of coaches license but fundamentally his points are valid. He’s quite openly telling us Kane will be replacing his son possibly by the end of this season. I think this is a telling and important interview.Fundamentally I agree with him but I think he weighs more than 74kg. I think he's about 80 now.

After reading that article, Flanno definitely sees Reed as our future long term halfback. He said he was 74kgs and wants him to get to 80kgs. He also said, when he puts him in first grade, he wants to keep him there and it may even be later this year that he debuts him.Yes, very unfortunate TW.

I thought that as well GCRV!! Flanno says -“I think that full-time training in a strength program and I think he is 74kg now and I think he will get up to probably 80kg by the end of the year without a doubt.” while a few on here think that he has reached 80kg already - which by looking at him seems right. There is a big difference between 74kgs and 80kgs. But even if this is the case, lets see how Kade goes in the Cup on a weekly basis and allow him that extra time to further develop in what will be a harder environment than the lower grades he has regularly played in to date. Why does he lie?
He might just have a lot on his mind and made a simple mistake. He damn well should have a lot on his mind after the CS dogs breakfast coming into his 3rd season. The time when he has no excuses.I thought that as well GCRV!! That point stood out to me as well, Frank. It makes you think about how Atkinson might be viewing his own future after those comments. After reading that article, Flanno definitely sees Reed as our future long term halfback. I thought he was ok in the Souths game as well. Not close to as good as Reed in the other trial but ok. Though I'm almost convinced he isn't a halfback but a 5/8 and am almost convinced if LKT sorts his defence out, and it was pretty good in the trials. I don't remember seeing him miss a tackle. Anyway, if LKTs defence is much better I'm almost convinced he'll be a better 5/8 than Atkinson. That point stood out to me as well, Frank. Then my imfo that only till '26 was incorrect. His knee injury worries me, been strapped for as long as he has worn the Red V to my knowledge. Forced him to leave the field last game, prob not, but from my memory the first time I have seen him physically struggle with the injury. He extended in 2025 to the end of 2027.
Problem is he comes across as setting far higher standards for some rather than others.
Agree with our coach, Reed needs bulking to manage the week in week out grind of Firsts. His defense also needs more starch added. He can do this in Ressies, but wishing he has his debut at some stage, either forced or otherwise.Reed explode into 1sts
