Jasais Ah Kee set to test the open market reported by espn
He's already tested it, Monday is the official day juniors are on the market so stories like this will come out.

Tigers are keen if they can off load Latu, but his manager will wait till Flanno shit is sorted.

Jasias rehab has finished and currently training with Flegg expect am appearance soon.

Whats the gut feel amongst our juniors Mug, are they pro Flanno or not ?

Match Notes (Steelers U17's Week 1 Final (4th vs 1st):
  • So Api Amone is a big out, but otherwise full strength with all the usual suspects.. up against an unbeaten side in the Knights though.. wont be easy..
  • 4min - We almost concede a try.. but instead off the next set Coehlo #9 makes a nice long break.. final play and Burton chips close to the knights line.. mad bounce backwards into the centre Berghuis's arms.. great first points 6-0.
  • 9min - Knights almost score again but ruled a knock on in a contented aerial raid up against Burton, too tough to handle.
  • 13mins - manage to defend our line again after a few penalties given away.. another error from Newcastle.. ctr Tausala (the wrecking ball) breaks them open from our own end.. runs the entire length thought about passing for his winger but just went himself, ran 90m.. epic effort def the pick of the wingers/centres this year. 10-0.
  • 19min - Again after defending our line.. Naite Gibbs off the bench almost gets there himself but drops it trying for a late pass.. damn it..
  • 22min - Tausala again... just threatens to pass to his winger but steamrolls the defence instead... 14-0, both kicks missed from out wideish. HALF-TIME SCORE.
  • 37min - We defended our line so many times.. but eventually a strong forward close to the line wrestles over.. I thought he was short and sort of bounced in.. but ref had allowed it 14-6.
  • 39min -- Grrrr very next set the Newcastle centre sort of wrongfoots Tausala.. sort of.. but rly just burnt him cold.. haven't seen that before.. they go the length and its 14-12 damn.
  • 46min - Camped on their line.. Fangupo with a big late offload on the line.. Chase quickly gets it to Chapman who just manages to wrestle over the line.. were back.. 20-12.
  • 49mins - Chase from dummy half runs 50m to put us on attack again.. Lewis boots it 20m past the deadball line on final tackle.. after missing the dropout catch earlier in the set.. panicking perhaps...
  • 51min - we have to defend 2 sets on our line essentially.. last play their halfback looks over, we manage to stop it with Burton getting there just in time to stop him rolling over and getting it down. omg and then Berghuis puts it down going for an offensive play close to our line and we defend again.. and I thought we'd done it but a long pass to a flying winger.. they get it down in the very corner.. 20-16. (7mins left).
  • 57min - get the penalty and attacking their line and Burto has put it down cold.. the nerves.. they go the length and were defending our line yet again.. thank god we hold our compose and 3 steelers hold him up on the last... but.. despite that they push us back into the ingoal on the next play.. fmd.. dropout...
  • 59min - Knights attacking our line with under a min to go.. but they fumble it.. if we can hold the ball for 1 set we win.. we've done it!!!! Defeated the undefeated! Week off and into the prelim final with Api Amone back I would assume!! Honestly a lot of luck today, Knights didn't handle the pressure well (and I'm worried we wont in a prelim) but look this is footy.. we took our chances.. we defended our line A LOT... and we came out on top! Well done boys, cyas in 2 weeks =) 20-16 FULL-TIME.

Great game boys building every week.
The D of Hunter and Destin our weak spot.
Api still with headaches had to start protocols again, hopefully good to go in a fortnight.
A bonus for the club is most of the team are under contract now for 2 3 years.

Very interesting... You could almost let Ah Kee & LKT go if we got a swap for Latu.

I think Ah Kee is the one.. the origin 6 of the future.. but at ~17yrs of age.. we would have to sign him now.. and sign him again in 3-4yrs (when he is hawt) to get a first grader out of him.. big ask for our club... and he wont help us get out of this hole we are in.. I guess Latu could be a 7 to work around now.. not rly sure how good he is.. and he is less than a year in front of Reed, like hes 20, turning 21 in May... similar to LKT.. yeah I dunno if hes the one we would invest in to get us out of this mess.. but if were gonna lose Ah Kee anyway hes not a bad get.

Rokko Walker is also a 6 of the same age.. not in the same world as Ah Kee though, Rokko I rly dont think hes a 6, I think hes a Fletcher Sharpe clone who himself shouldnt be playing 6.. should really be fullback or anywhere 1-5, but... I mean.. u never know right.. play 6 long enough and maybe u become a 6.

he took a couple of games to warm up.. but hes done so well with Api away... he looks like like a young Tino.. not saying hes anything like Tino but hes that sort of frame.
Was going to say he had that Tino look about him..

Spoke of him a few years ago, starting to hit his potential now, he is huge across the shoulders very high ceiling.
Has already passed Api this year.

He is locked up like most of the squad, the only one I'm worried about losing is Asher.

Asher to another NRL club, which one? or to Union?

Hey mug, I know it’s only just happened with Flanno gone but what you reckon happens with Ah Kee now?
I heard it mentioned he was concerned about the pathway with Kyle in the frame about a year ago

You think he’s a genuine chance of staying or he’s as good as gone?

We are certainly in a much better position but there's other things in play.
We will be given last offer option that helps.

Spine rankings: A look at the 1, 6, 7, 9 of every preliminary finalist ahead of Junior Reps GF qualifiers

1. ILLAWARRA STEELERS

SPINE: Oliver Burton, Asher Chapman, Tyler Lewis, Ryland Coelho

Got their first taste as a combination in round six and they haven’t looked back since.

They’ve won four in a row since that point, rounding out the regular season with three 28+ victories before handing minor premiers Newcastle their first defeat of the season in week one of the finals.

Burton and Chapman are highly touted juniors within the system as genuine gamebreakers, but don’t underestimate the impact of Lewis and Coelho in the success of this side.
