Kyle Flanagan & the coach

Yep the only thing that we poach is eggs for the board so their tummies are full ..........
I didn't go on an all out rant over this because I'm not sure when they signed him. Like if it was before Flanno was appointed head coach and the first thing he did was pick his son out of the Bulldogs reserve grade bench. He says to play hooker/bench utility but that was obviously a lie. But it is definitely not nepotism.

Dragons set sights on Selwyn

St George Illawarra are set to make moves to clear up salary cap space to sign Broncos star Selwyn Cobbo.

Tyrell Sloan will be allowed to leave early if he can secure a deal elsewhere after the fullback’s form has been below par since being switched to the wing this season following the arrival of Clint Gutherson.

The Dragons are hopeful of signing Cobbo before the June 30 deadline after he has fallen out of favour at Brisbane.

Cobbo has been playing in the Queensland Cup and has not lined up at NRL level since the Round 13 loss to Manly last month.

Cobbo looks like another one of those fatties , Latrell is another , Luciano another ........ The guy is big and strong and has played origin ....... So if now it's Sloan on the chopping block .......

Looks like Phins have signed George Williams, the Pommie halfback who used to play for Canberra. That's the facebook rumour anyway. Kodi Nikorima is looking for an exit with Williams to play 5/8. I'm a bit surprised. I thought he was a gun halfback but don't really see him being a good 5/8.

Gee, Dragons could surely do with a halfback. Backup in case Kyle is injured or suspended for biting.

Was this you or Dragons Chris Dragons Chris!!??

Integrity Unit made aware of social media attacks towards Dragons coach Flanagan

NRL integrity unit has been alerted to abusive rants directed at the Dragons coach Shane Flanagan and his son in recent weeks

The NRL integrity unit has been alerted to abusive rants directed at the Dragons coach Shane Flanagan and his son in recent weeks after being contacted by St George Illawarra bosses. Sport Confidential can reveal that the Dragons raised concerns with the NRL after Shane Flanagan was subject to vitriolic attacks by a person claiming to be a Dragons supporter.

The Instagram account involved was subsequently shut down.

It must be so hard on both of them and is IMO ruining both of them. Kyle is a good player. Fringe first grader which not anyone can do. Tackles well. Passes well but doesn't dig into the line when passing which is his downfall in the halves, IMO. But this present situation must be nightmarish for both. With this much pressure, how can they be expected to do their jobs well?

Whose fault is that? How did he let it get this far? Flanno has dug a very deep hole for himself and Kyle. I hope he can climb out. Kyle as well via a contract in the Super League.

Anyone who has ever coached whether a kids team to 1st grade knows the fickle nature of the job. Human nature dictates when things are going well and your team is consistently winning or being successful you can feel the slaps on the back, hear the numerous compliments and praises.

But when things are not going so well you can feel the knives in the back, the sneers, the abundance advice offered freely on how you are not doing well and what your doing wrong from club committee members, fans and others.

Personally I can recall an incident when I was coaching where a knife was produced and threats to gut me were made. Silly bugger didn't know what I actually did for a living until he opened his front door.

Its a tough gig coaching but threats and acts of violence against individuals are unacceptable and should never be condoned. My old man, god bless him, told me, ' never judge a person unless you walk a mile in his shoes'. In other words dont judge a person until you try to understand their situation. After all, it is only a game of football.

I think there's legitimate threats, like in your case which should never be tolerated & those which are bullshit. I think someone said please send him to the moon so he can't be picked for us or something like that. I'd hate for the club to silence fans legitimate concerns & negative comments when it's true.

That's taking it too far. Was that in this forum?

Agree , I'm not privy to what was said. If it is something akin to what you have mentioned then that's not a direct or indirect threat to anyone and is part and parcel of life. Certainly nothing like my incident.

See this is what p. sses me off. The Dolphins looking at the future and planning things and getting things actually done. Signing George Williams to replace Nikorima and signing Cobbo to help out because Bostock will be sidelined for about a year because of his ACL injury.

The Club would have had JDB's situation playing on their minds for a lot of the time in 2025. Did they have to wait for Tim Watsford to take up the CEO job before he and Haran were able to get up enough nerve to tell JDB that he wasn't wanted after 2025? If they had been thinking of this, surely they would have had a replacement already spoken to and ready to sign up before the bad news was given to JDB. Plan for the future means having someone lined up to replace the one going - yes, maybe a junior has been lined up but that junior is already in the stable, we need someone to come into the club to add to our loss. We just fart arse around and fumble and procrastinate and ummm and aaaah for too bloody long!!!!

There’s no threats mate, just a hardcore supporter losing the plot with the coach and certain selection and recruitment decisions. He clearly won’t be exchanging Christmas cards with the Flanagan’s put it that way haha

Then if thats the case it's a bit harsh on the bloke, last time I looked we still lived in a democracy
From what I’ve seen he’s said nothing that we as supporters pretty much talk about day to day just to the power of a million haha.

Critical of certain players brought in and let go over the last few years and the movement of certain players to reserve grade and opportunities to return to 1sts etc.

Well then it's really a storm in a teacup if thats the case. Sounds like a management deflection issue. We have bigger problems than that which need attention.
