It is one of the less informed posts i have read in here for a long time
1. Gutherson has no demonstrated capacity to organise a teams attack, his role has always been chip in and augment - classic 5/8 stuff or fullback.
2. Hornby played halfback very early in his career, the myth that Bennett moved him there as some kind of coaching master stroke is history revisionism at its finest. Bennett started in 2009 ... Brown in the back half of 2005 had hornby at 7 with baz 6/ennis 9 and greenshields 1. He had played in the halves in first grade before he played fullback.
3. Atkinson is a 6 totally agree there ...
There are only two options for halfback in the club, ONeill or Reed .. that is it ... the flano effect on recruitment/retention has destroyed our halfback depth to that sad point. LKT/Atkinson are 6s ... Flano is a bench 14 at the very best and i wouldnt pick him in that role above Lidddle.
Moving Nuffo out of fullback to put sloan there is dumb as well ... the current myth that Sloan provides X-Factor is laughable - he doesnt ... perfect example is the warriours game where the actual x-factor player in Luc put sloan away to do nothing ... Sloan right now is a catch/put down try merchant or can run quickly in a straight line if someone puts him into space and no-defender is covering ...
We need to do three things
1. Sack flano, get him out of the way of Anderson doing his job
2. Retire Gutherson
3. Recruit 1/2 a spine and hope Reed comes in quickly and capably.
