NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg, 2025

Staggs is a physical monster of a man? Hes closer to Steve Renouf in size, but I cant think of many small centres in the last 25yrs.
Staggs is quite small but is obviously very strong. I think Buchanan is the same. Not as strong yet obviously but in a year from now......

Nothing wrong with the attacking structures using your big edge forwards after your playmaker digs into the defensive line. Just have to start winning the battle in the middle of the park and increase the defensive line speed

o Connor was great/tough for the first maybe 50mins, just need fresh legs.
o And yes im not big on LKT since he moved up from SG Ball, maybe in time but he doesnt take the game on for me.. the odd classy play but I want more.
o Glover tbf shouldnt be goalkicking.. I just wish we had someone else.. even if someone came up from Flegg at some stage.. or Kade Reed, but I think Kade will stay in Flegg this year.. well I assume so.. unless Glover gets injured.

Last thing they did not want is let Storm score after the restart. Gives the scorer so much momentum, specially if yet to lose a game.

Jumped the gun as normal service resumed with a converted try by the classy Lyric Craft-Te Moananui to now give us a commanding lead.

You're a hard marker. He's only 19! Makes a few mistakes because sometimes he goes for too much but gets a lot of try assists and a lot of line break assists. Tackles and kicks well. Though I agree in a way. Maybe coach needs to tell Glover to take a back seat a little more and let LKT do his thing.

After an error they rolled upfield far too easily. Next set they are in the corner. Looked as tho the scorer fumbled it, but awarded. Lead dwindling.

Another bloody mistake, hi shot and they march well downfield. Surrendering meekly. Millard will be furious and heads will roll if they lose this.

Just held on to come away with a point. No class in Flegg play makers to guide us round the park while forwards cant make any meaningful ground. Our middle and edges are defensively suss which the bigger fitter Storm mob exploited to the full as we fatigued.
Nothing coming from Saints Ball, so Steelers Ball best will have to take up the slack. Keeping only Nick T and Hutchinson, poss also Leikvoll from the pack.

  • Disappointing loss last week. Not an issue really. Long season and they'll have plenty more but seemed like it was one that got away.
  • #16, #11 and # 8 all back in the same week. Seriously, they haven't been missed.
  • Nick T is out again. I wonder what's going on there. Must be injured. He was going really well.
  • #4 and #5 swapping positions? Interesting. Could it mean #5 is being prepared for first grade? Sloan and CT did nothing wrong but we have a slow tank on one side and a fragile Ferrari on the other. Maybe something between is better.
  • Glad with all the old-timers coming back in, #17 hasn't been dropped.
  • Early in the season but need to win this one. Parramatta are in 4th and Dragons 9th but they have 2 wins and Dragons a win and a draw. Obviously early in the season but can't let the top teams get too far ahead.
  • #11 answers my question on the other side. Seems strange to me. With Egan going well in first grade and RFM behind him, why drop Nick T to accommodate BMM and Eisenhuth at all? Just the way I see it.
  • Having said that, I think that's a very strong backrow combo for Jersey Flegg.
