NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg, 2025

We’re a red hot chance to win the NSW cup, been super impressed with Tsougranis the last 2 weeks

Maybe his season this year as a regular in cup will be like Egan last year to harden them for first grade

Sua and Leilua both come off in 2026 so the time line is tremendous to shunt them out and replace them with the young guys who perform best and are on a fraction of the coin

I think Talau has done a great job with this team, they seriously need to consider him as AC next year.

So I have just read above that Talau is already an assistant coach in first grade as well as being the head coach of the Cup team. He presented Loko with the jersey #287 for his debut run in firsts so Flanno seems to be offloading some tasks like that and like yesterday when Dean Young gave the half time talk to the team.

What I asked earlier in the Warriors game thread is whether or not Talau could make Head Coach one day as he certainly had good success in the lower grades and now reserves plus the young ones he is coaching would have a high opinion and respect of him moreso.

Just filling in and fitting the overflow of forwards into the team.
What's impressed me with Nick this year is his aggression control.
In previous years he would of been sin bined and suspended multiple times by now.
The refs are definitely looking for him also, had some harsh sinbins over recent years, though the one on the weekend genuinely I thought was completely in error.. 2 players running for a loose ball shoulder to shoulder and the smaller man falls over.

From some of the games I've watched in NSW cup, especially the younger players hit the ball at speed. Nick T & CST had some great carries. I've also noticed the younger players in both NSW cup & 1st grade have good line speed but also drive the attacker back in the tackle. They dominate the tackle, these are great signs imo.

I agree with your comments Mailroomsgi, apart from moving on Su'a. I hope he is the senior player that the decision makers endeavour to hold onto post 2026.

That was not warranted it was Cody running threw that clipped his ankle.
Although as we all know referees are impartial, supposedly, my grandson is a referee and they discuss pre game who to keep an eye on. I'm not saying they are targeted but they are spoken about.

Thats the reality, and some players rightly or wrongly have reputations. Let us hope our younger players are informed and understand this reality by our coaching staff and play accordingly.

What a day! Glad to get back and see what's going on in the lower grades this week. Things are pretty grim now but with the number of these young blokes killing in NSW Cup. I really feel like this might be the darkest night just before the dawn.

NSW Cup vs North Sydney Bears

  1. Cody Ramsey
  2. Ben Rumble
  3. Nicholas Tsougranis
  4. Hayden Buchanan
  5. Sione Finau
  6. Jonah Glover
  7. Lachlan Ilias
  8. Finau Latu
  9. Connor Muhleisen

  10. Jacob Halangahu

  11. Michael Molo

  12. Haele Finau

  13. Viliami Fifita
  14. Jett Liu
  • Last week was another week of these young forwards running rampant.
  • I think I read last week Nick T in fact started in the second row, not as named. Wherever he played, it was good.
  • Now we have Cyrus Stanley-Traill stepping up and having a blinder. I know he's supposed to be in the top 30 in 2027 but he might get there a year earlier.
  • hard to see where the backs are as the forwards are just bulldozing opposition but Buchanan seems to be coming along well. Lawson should be in the NRL now and Ramsey keeps getting better. And I have to mention Sione Finau had a barnstormer but seems Flanno has marked his papers so we can only hope he goes well in NSW Cup.

Seems to be a problem on the NSW RL website with no data for Jersey Flegg.
