Nah mate, he’s 21 in a few months

Finau Latu, Kade Reed and Charlie Heidke are all eligible guys that may or may not get selected

Latu is a certainty if his back is sweet and the other 2 are unlikely
And also Buchanan?
The week after is NSW under 19s on Thursday, we could have Jake and Hayden in that and may not back up.
"Hayden" as in Hayden Buchanan?

NSW Cup have the bye this weekend. Got away with one last weekend. I've been saying for a while not to drop the young players back to Jersey Flegg when some of the troops return. Talking about Sele, Eisenhuth and BMM. Eisenhuth is out of the picture but the return of Sele and BMM has seen first CST and now Liu back to Flegg. I guess it's for the better as both won.

Round 14 vs Kaiviti Silktails

  1. Wesley Pring
  2. Toby Rumble
  3. David Afu
  4. Charles Heidke
  5. Lyric Craft-Te Moananui
  6. Tyler Peckham-Harris
  7. Kade Reed
  8. Campbell Rubie
  9. Isaiah Fagalilo
  10. Ryan Hutchinson
  11. Cyrus Stanley-Traill
  12. Jarrah Gaia Treweek
  13. Viliami Hikila

  14. Blake Metcalfe
  15. Viliami Amone
  16. Drew Langdon
  17. Leeroy Weatherall

  18. Tobias Miller
  • No Liu. I wonder why that is. Makes no sense he was sent back from NSW Cup last week but this week isn't selected in Flegg? Was he injured?
  • Once again, that 2~7 has a lot of points in them.
  • Much needed win last week. Still plenty of time to move up the ladder but can't afford to lose many more games.
  • Mug Fan Just a Mug Fan mentioned #10 has been given a train and trial deal. I like it. Really good player. Hard worker, runs hard, has an offload. Though still no Williams. He's been injured practically all season so coaching staff must really rate him to give him a train and trial deal for next year.

There’s something about Jesse Williams that I think will just translate through the grades, besides his obvious speed.

There was a game against tigers in flegg last year where his finishes for both his tries were unreal and can’t really be coached, that was a pivotal moment in my opinion of where he could potentially get to

The speed is obvious but he’s got a bit of grit and mongrel IMO, runs with intent out of yardage

A train and trial is a good deal for Hutchinson and Williams + the club as a whole

He was my fave kid last year, but I did think he would dominate Flegg with that big body, I suspect its getting in that professional headspace, and getting in for more work etc.. that said its really been injuries and HIA's that have cruelled him, as a few kids have been crueled lately..think he missed the entire preseason, or most of it anyway.

Prob have to make a call on Ben Rumble soon also and Toby for that matter.. Ben looks a lot more comfortable on the right flank.. good finisher, pretty physical and the height to not get dominated in the air.. but will he fix the hands/errors and just a little bit slow to respond to whats in front of him.. so hard to know.... we cant keep all of them in nsw cup.. made harder again when feagai and ravalawa are fit.. and we might well replace Sloan yet (if indeed hes not still here), and Ramsey.. there are a lot of players floating around as nsw cup wingers which Jesse needs to move into soon... and this is ignoring Tom Kirk who just lost a year thru ACL.

I thought Toby Rumble might be a bit better than Ben when it comes to natural ability. When he fills out a bit more, I thought he might come good. Got a big enough frame.

I keep forgetting about Kirk, as for the rumbles. Maybe I’m a bit harsh but I just don’t see it with them. I think bens a solid NSW cup player but just not quite up to it in the dynamic sense for NRL, reminds me a bit of Alex Lobb/Ben Johnson in that regard

I thought David Afu would translate really well to flegg but he’s sort of just treading water, not outstanding but not really bad, unlike Heidke who just keeps on excelling and has formed a great combo with Kade Reed

The Rumbles unfortunately have bad hands, they run bad lines that contribute to the errors.

Hjlatason and Hammoud in particular have been massive outs for the year.. Hammoud I thought was a smokey to get his nose in front of LKT.. but at the very least he will make a great partner for Reed..

TPH was my other fave kid from last year, but it seems pretty clear hes just plugging holes for now.. its obviously possible for someone small like Kini or Fuller to play at the highest level, and I dont think TPH has reached his ceiling if we backed him for a bit.. but hes not cutting them apart like he did in U19s, and hes also not the defensive beast he was against smaller opponents... just seems like despite his great attitude.. this is probably as far as he goes.

Neither look FG standard to me. Faster, more skillful and better finishers than this pair that do look FG material.
