fed inedible food
You guys wanna know what they fed us at the boarding school, porridge so thick and lumpy you stood your spoon in it, a staple yr round dessert was warm stale bread and milk with nutmeg, a vile soup we called dishwater because it was tasteless, with the only protein in it being weevils, dead set. We were allowed an egg once a week otherwise toast only. No fruit juice. Our only decent meal for the entire year was a roast at Easter. While we kids ate this slop and rationed food, the house masters dined like lords of the manor.

Wow that just sounds horrible. Bordering on outright cruelty.

So many kids have been mistreated in Boarding Schools. Conditions in those days when you were just a little kid RVH would have been tough. To me kids who have been sent to Boarding Schools is a cop out by parents who don't want to spend their time to look after their kids and is bloody selfish and of course lax in giving their love and bonding that is needed by the kids as they grow up.
