The issue isnt that he wasnt being selected ... It was around the way he was dropped/communicated with and not being held to the same level of accountability as Kyle.

Anasta knows that Ilias is mid, but so is Kyle. When the club communicated things to Ilias about what to do and he worked on that for no result yet Kyle was gifted a free pass that is when Anasta got his nose out of joint advocating for his client.

I thought Anasta was 100% justified in what he was saying at the time.

Looking forward to seeing how Metcalf plays tonight. I was against his signing. Not as much as I was with Gutho's signing and see how that has worked out. With a half-decent halves partner, behind an even better pack and another off season in the weights room, I think Kade Reed is our future starting from next year but I'd be happy if Metcalf made me eat my words, starting from tonight.

Yep. Good test to see where he's at. Though Penrith aren't as good as they were a few years ago. They are very beatable now.

Same here. Sami played a good game in a losing side last night. Scored the first try for the Titans and seemed to pull something in his left leg and I thought oh no not a cartilage injury. He managed to hobble back to his wing and after a while the leg got better but there was still a little hobble in his walk so I hope he is ok and has not done much damage to his left knee. Scored another try as well in the game. Hoping that our players on his side know to just get it out to him and he can finish the run with a try. Takes the ball up really strongly and by the sounds of things is looking forward to coming down the coast with his family and helping us get wins.

Sami has been great, averages nearly 220 m a game, scored 14 tries so far for 2026 and is a tough bugger. Big upgrade on what we have at the moment and will excel outside Metcalf, Nikorima and Drinkwater

Yes and that's not any kind of sharp insight. Those 2 are ahead of the rest now. But Penrith aren't as far ahead as they used to be. I wouldn't be surprised if they were knocked out before the GF. If Metcalf can fire, Warriors are a good chance. Shonkies? No, they won't be able to match it in big games.

Metcalf having a blinder in regard to controlling the game. Playing direct in attack with a bit of speed as well. IF he continues to play like this behind our pack....... trouble for enemy teams.

He has such an unusual athletic body type, thin at the bottom and solid at the shoulders.. and he looks fast.. dare I use our very own Mailmans expression.. he looks a total stud!

Big boot on him too, watching how he scored that try.. he cut back like Kyle does.. only he has pace.. but he jinked a 2nd time to beat the last defender.. noone of our halves score that try as simple as it looked. Cant wait to have a real 7 finally.. and hopefully a fit Reed behind him incase of injury.

Thank goodness DA managed to sign Metcalf up for us. Looking forward to him coming in 2027. Hopefully fully fit.

Two things I thought of watching the Warriors-Penrith game.

1. Metcalf is a gun.
2. I wasn't against signing Deano due to him being an old boy and they have proven so bad for us as head coaches. It will continue to be true until it isn't. I mean in regard to how the Warriors hadn't beaten Penrith in so long. I was against signing Deano due to his record.
