If the players he has signed do the right things and help win us more games and I mean some really exciting big win games, I would be rapt. I have more positive vibes with the lot Anderson recruited than the bunches Griffin and Flanno recruited. Roll on 2027.
I had always said Dave that when Flanno was our recruiting manager, who of note did we get, anyone ?? So as the HC he even did worse. I tried to convince myself that it was managements fault, but with DA there it obviously wasn't. Not to mention of course the untold damage that f$#kwit Haran did.

Overall in recruitment and coaching, both as an assistant and head, Flanno failed miserably for the Dragons in my opinion. Haran was useless - and the Club had Haran on our books for way too long. The Board failed as well because they were hoodwinked and they couldn't see it. They probably thought of Deano back in 2023 to be the HC but Flanno was selected over Deano for the role in 2024 because the club wanted an experienced, premiership winning head coach to lead what they thought would be a major rebuild with Flanno at the helm.

So as far as Flanno and Haran thought would be great for the rebuild in 2024 they signed Kyle Flanagan, Hame Sele, Tom Eisenhuth, Raymond Faitala-Mariner and Corey Allan. They then signed for 2025 Valentine Holmes, Danien Cook and Clint Gutherson. Except for possibly Cook and a bit from Gutho as being goodish - the others as we know did not cut the mustard as they lacked true quality.

Daniel Anderson came in to be our head recruiter in July 2025 and as a result, Flanno and Haran had little to do with recruitment and pathways - my feeling is that Anderson not only identified the type of players the Dragons needed to sign up, he also recognised the players not to keep and I think that he also had plenty to say about the way Flanno was coaching and that Haran was surplus to requirements. His words resulted in those two being "sacked" and Deano then becoming the full-time Head Coach late in 2026 but more specifically for years 2027 and 2028 with the club having an option for a further year.

Both Anderson and Deano have not really shown that they will bring us success as the combinations of the new signings together with our formidable forwards has yet to be tested on the field so I am not saying 100% yet that we have the makings of a good combination of Anderson and Young in their appointed positions until at least how they go on Anzac Day 2027. I do have a strong feeling though that the combination will be a good one.

Deano seems to be popular with the players. The trick is to demand they perform and hold them accountable when they don't and still be popular with the players.

Good games plans help as well but between him and 2 assistants and DA, you'd think they could get that sorted out.

Peter O'Sullivan getting underserved wraps for Newcastle or what? He brought in Dylan Brown but apart from that, who else? Not as if Dylan Brown played a big part in their finals push.
Recruited Francis Manuelelua, Jermaine McEwen, Lachlan Crouch, Trey Mooney and of course Brown

He is also heavily involved in the recent success of their pathways. I rate O’Sullivan highly

Yes, we appear to now have a better all round squad. It really is up to Deano and his assistants ( I hope that one of them will be Nathan Fien) to bring the players together to form a great side on the field which is what we want to see.

Peter O Sullivan to the broncos

Pairing an elite recruitment manager with the biggest most well resourced club in the league

Sigh
The money and the challenge were too good to refuse. He will be back around the Brisbane area and not too far away from the Redcliffe Dolphins who he was able to sign up several goodies for their inaugural year. The Broncos will be a force to reckon with for years to come. I hope that the Dragons can hold onto Anderson for a year or two longer at least before he looks to more challenges and more money himself.

what did they pay to pull him out of newcastle.. far out..
The highest ever payment for a Recruitment Officer - $500,000 for 5 years = $2,500,000. So money talks and there is no loyalty when it comes to personnel not having salary cap to affect the move and a contract arrangement that the Knights said they would not stop him from leaving even though they wanted to retain him but I guess they are happy to have had his services to get the squad that they now have. Who knows, if O'Sullivan continues on with success at the Broncos, he might be happy to leave and go Recruit for another team if the price is right and break his deal with the Broncos once he gets them back to what they want him to do.
