No mention of the hooker we all want to take over, one Connor Muhleisen.until Purcell or Hooper take over,
He can still be told he'll see out the final year in the NSW Cup.Retiring or delisted as doesn't he still have a year left on his contract?
Connor Muhleisen is better than Macca now but I'm not sure if he's ever going to be a top hooker. No mention of the hooker we all want to take over, one Connor Muhleisen.
Good point but he's employed by the club and is often seen in the box with Griffin and in this case, spoke out in defence of Griffin so I presume he has a good amount of insider knowledge. He is the female team coach. So what muscle does he have in the club hieracy. Does what he said hold any credence or is he whistling in the wind. And surely Muhleisen is first cab off the rank re our next hooker, rather than Hooper or Purcell. We seem to have a plethora of young hookers.
Maybe question should be, if Hunt goes and Sullivan takes over on much less money, who should the club be looking at to recruit? As far as I know, Matt Lodge and Angus Crighton are off contract. They would radically transform our forward pack. Probably could only afford one. I'd go for Crighton.DRAGONS LOW-BALL HUNT AS RIVALS CIRCLE
The Dragons have low-balled skipper Ben Hunt with their extension offer opening the door for rival clubs to poach the Origin star. Channel 9’s Danny Weidler revealed on 100% Footy the Dragons’ extension offer is worth just $700,000 a season, which is some way short of the $875,000 that was suggested.
Given his age, Hunt was tipped to get a pay cut given his last deal was north of $1 million a season. However, given his form for the club and in the Origin arena, $700,000 is a lot less than what some clubs would be willing to pay for Hunt as a hooker or halfback.
The 32-year-old is signed until the end of 2023, but was looking for a two-year extension to finish his career at the Dragons. Hunt has scored 72 tries and 339 points in 287 NRL games for the Broncos and Dragons since his debut in 2009.
I don't think that's "low-balling" at all. Depends on what they want of him. If they don't rate Sullivan and want Hunt to play halfback, it may be low-balling a little. A little as far as %s go when talking those sums, a small % change is a lot of money. If they rate Sullivan, which just last week they said they do, and want Hunt to play hooker for 2 years until Purcell or Hooper take over, I think 700k is spot on. Just my view.
Depends on which of Coric and Shereb they think is closest to first grade.Maybe question should be, if Hunt goes and Sullivan takes over on much less money, who should the club be looking at to recruit? It is a low offer if they really want to keep him. He will get at least $850k elsewhere I believeDRAGONS LOW-BALL HUNT AS RIVALS CIRCLE

Need a propMaybe question should be, if Hunt goes and Sullivan takes over on much less money, who should the club be looking at to recruit? I think 850k is a little high but I think it's ballpark. IMO Dragons will up their offer to 750k while he could get 800k elsewhere. So as far as % goes, it's not a big difference. He has a house in Wollongong and is pretty well set up and can probably remain involved with the cub after he retires so I guess it's a big decision for him.It is a low offer if they really want to keep him. Agree but I think it's important for the development of the squad he see out 23 with us one way or the other. In saying that I'm not privy to how big the divide is in the team at the momentI think 850k is a little high but I think it's ballpark. According to who?Hearing we are looking at Liam Martin. He is a backrower tho, so our R & R are stuffing up again. Get ready Jack to move back into prop next year.
Angus Crighton still not signed. Far better than Liam Hunt.Need a prop

They were talking about how Liam Martin scored the match winning try against Souths. It's true, he did. Ran a good line off a quick play the ball and barged over. What they don't talk so much about is how he bombed 2 tried earlier. Good player worth about 450~500k max a year. Apparently he's after around 750k. Good luck to him getting that but it surely won't be at the Dragons. Crighton is probably more in the 600~700k range.Angus Crighton still not signed. Far better than Liam Hunt.
Think I read it online.. 9 perhaps.According to who?
Good player but as you said, a little long in the tooth now. The last things the team needs is more veteran props. Some DT scribe. Crighton is a back rower too so is not as vital as is a good prop. Is Jordan McLean off contact or is he a bit long in the tooth now. Always rated him.
So weird. Liddle can't force his way into the wooden spoon team. So of course he's on Griffin's radar!"Tigers rake Jacob Liddle, is on the joint-venture outfit’s radar and has already met with Griffin."
Anyone know about this little tid bit of info from the SMH? We also have Billy Burns for another year. Honestly we are rewarding mediocrity at this club.
If you give it cool thought, it would probably confirm Macca is going to retire. Liddle is probably just a back up.So weird. Liddle can't force his way into the wooden spoon team. So of course he's on Griffin's radar!
