o I have heard today that we are talking to May (but so are the dogs and tigers), Dogs will be hard to beat to a signature.. yeah the Mays get a lot of people offside.. I dont think they r the best people to have around (doesnt seem like a guy that buys into culture, but he doesnt drink either), but tbf were not really in a position to be picky until we show ourselves to be a more consistent Top8 club. Might need board signoff also even if we did win the race to a signature.
o Rumours starting to circulate today that Atkinson is signed for 2025.. would love some official announcements soon, cause if we have 2 or 3 players signed (2 of them spine players), lets get some positive press going.. i.e. try and get May, Thompson (and any 2026 potential recruits) excited about whats building here.
o I will say 1 thing though.. I love not seeing any Hunt v Dragons articles anymore.

At least Parra will be paying a large part of his first year. That's how desperate they are to get rid of the dud. So Flanno will be able to resign Eisenhuth and extend Kyle because both of them are in hot demand.

Probably something like instead of getting 900k for next year and then nothing, he's getting 550 for 3 years. Similar to Hunt. The coach who was sacked or the caretaker coach who was rejected for the job of coach?
Why do you like him so much? Do you know him personally? A 30 year old fullback who is unwanted at his present club. I would much prefer Doueihi. Younger, can play in multiple positions and might be able to play halfback or at least 5/8 moving Flanno to halfback.

Cook and Gutho are leaders who have played finals, grand finals, origins and internationals. I think they are going to leave a lasting impression on the younger players we have coming through and change the culture of the team.

That's exactly it. If the club didn't have Cook, JDB, Holmes, Molo, RFM and another 10 or so who aren't 30 yet but have been around a long time and didn't have Sloan, Allen and Holmes to play fullback with only Flanno and LKT to play in the halves, I would be in favour of signing Gutherson.
Why do you think Parra want to get rid of him?

Because the club needs halves, not another fullback. Doueihi can play in the halves, Gutherson can't. Gutherson played in the centres for I think it was only 1 Origin game. I remember because I was disappointed Lomax didn't get the nod. Had a shocker. No tackle breaking ability and can't defend in the front line.
The better question is why do you hate him and every potential signing so much that you continually spam made up rubbish to rag on him and the coach? Tell me again how Corey Allen already has a more accomplished career then Gutho, I enjoyed that one. Or are we on to Doueihi now?

Why do you have so much hate for Allen and Sloan and Holmes? You obviously feel we need a fullback. Doueihi who plays in a position the club needs badly has his best form in front of him. If Gutherson could play in halves, preferably halfback, I would be very upbeat about signing him.
As for Flanno's and his Dads Army recruitment, very dissatisfied so far but I think he did a pretty good job with the team he inherited last season. Shouldn't have signed Eisenhuth and RFM. Even though I wasn't against signing RFM. I thought he was better than he actually is. To keep picking Eisenhuth, RFM, BMM while the Couchman's were in reserve grade was mental.

If at least one more half is signed and a winger and a prop, if there is still money left for Gutherson for 2 years, I'll be ok with it. But fullback and/or over 30 veterans aren't a priority.I think Gutho would be an okay signing butRedV01 is right about halves being a priority.
