I agree Dave RCG proved to be a dud, so credit to the club for not getting him for the time or money he wanted. I dont think much of Tino for the bucks he gets. I cant understand with the women why we cant get bigger bodied girls, especially with the nursery we have. I think the idea was that we would have smaller more mobile forwards but that ended up a big fail, especially in the women's game. The bigger girls ran right over the top of us.
Now in the mens I dont know why we havent been able to get the big blokes, numerous reasons I suppose, some which we will never know why. My only hope is that someone like LPT can develop into an elite prop, time will tell.
Agree completely in regard to Tino. Good player but worth over 1 mil a season? I don't think so. I think about 900k is right.

I'm not sure if our women's squad has reached full quota and if they have a few empty spots that they can fill with a couple of bigger women who are capable of doing what bigger women from other teams are doing to us. I hope that Nathan Cross the NRLW coach for the Dragons and Bremner the women's football manager are working on this.

We are short of props in the men's squad. We signed Kerr only so far. We have lost JDB, RFM, BMM, Fifita, Eisenhuth so I would imagine that come 1 November they will either be announcing some signings at that time or a couple of weeks later. Somehow I feel that who they sign will be the best they can sign if availability is not great and plentiful. Not forgetting though that we do have those young guns getting bigger and stronger and mobile - they need to build up and become our props of the future.

Just got to wait and see now.

Tino isn't value for money. RCG wasn't. We need honest, resilient, reliable toilers prepared to put in the hard work.

2025 Departing Players

  • Jack De Belin (Eels)
  • Mikaele Ravalawa (Castleford)
  • Finau Latu (Bulldogs)
  • Raymond Faitala Mariner (released)
  • Corey Allan
  • Jonah Glover (Rabbitohs)
  • Sione Finau (Raiders)
  • Michael Molo (released)
  • Corey Ackers (released)
  • Viliame Fifita (released)
  • Ben Murdoch-Masila (retired)
  • Tom Eisenhuth (retired)
Very impressive list of departing players in the clubs favour. Latu might be a loss and JDB might have had one more good year and Finau might have been the best of a bad bunch of wingers but other than that, only reserve graders.

As supporters of this club it always amazes me that we always look forward to dates , expectations, marquee player signings etc, for the last few years we have been anticipating all these wonderful players coming to the club just to hear they are going somewhere else. Now we are in a situation that there doesn't seem to be much around. Oh well here we go again, lets look forward to Nov 1, maybe DA has worked some magic, we will see

Yes, same, same, same - we know what we want, but the cupboard was bare like when Old Mother Hubbard went to it. Lean pickings i'd say.

Who is replacing all of them? Kerr and Atkinson so far. How many from the NSW Cup or Jersey Flegg are going to be promoted? Reed must be a certainty for a development contract if not top 30.

We are going hard after Davvy Moale according to my mate who’s given me solid info in the past

I haven’t seen too much of him to be honest but his stats look decent for somebody coming off the bench playing reduced minutes. Only 22 as well.
Interesting Klemmer isn't on the list of those departing. If we get Moale going to be stacked for props. LPT, Couchman x 2, Klemmer, Gular, Moale.

Yep they should have stuck with Sexton, Gould would be seething
Penrith will win their 5th premiership in a row from 7th position which has never been done before in the modern era on both counts. Ivan Cleary will go down as the best coach in the modern history of the NRL. They are finals specialists and from a very shaky start at the beginning of the 2025 comp to being grand final winners will be an amazing accomplishment.

I hope that Anderson has got his cheque book out to sign Paul Alamoti.

That first half from Penrith is as good as you see. Broncos might be able to fight fire with fire in regard to attack with Reynolds pulling the strings, Mam chiming in, the fast backs and Ben Hunt warming the bench. But I don't think they will. I'm tipping a Melbourne Penrith GF for..... the 3rd time in 5 years?

If it's Storm v Panthers on grand final day in 2025, it will be their 3rd encounter in 6 years 2020, 2024 and 2025. I agree that these two teams will be in the GF. Penrith have the Cleary's and a great league system in the club, great administration with guys like Greg Alexander who is full of footy knowledge, plenty of great local juniors who they keep introducing into first grade after so many great ones have departed over the years due to salary cap constraints. They identify and go for the players they know that can replicate those that have left for example Blaize Talagi who was nowhere near as good as when at the Eels. Paul Alamoti from the Bulldogs, Isaiah Papali'i etc.

As I have said, we could do with a Paul Alamoti whose contract as yet has not been renewed beyond 2025 - but I cannot see him leaving such a great club like Penrith.

He's certainly better than any wingers we have but seems more of the same as we have had for a long time. Big, runs hard, breaks a lot of tackles but lacks the speed of the best wingers. When you look at it, Penrith don't have a fast backline either. Though still faster than ours and the way Cleary and Edwards control the attack, they don't need to be very fast.
